I've just got back from my first trip to DLP, and as I went on my own (sad woman that I am!) I though I would share some of my thoughts, by putting forward my nominations for various categories....

1. :D Best Bargain - annual ticket for 119 Euro. only 14 euro more than a Three Day Hopper, more than saved that on discounts in shops and on food.

2. :scared1: Worth the ticket price on its own - Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith - rode it about 20 times.

3. Biggest let-down - Indiana Jones. Don't bother, but at least there wasn't a queue.

4.- :) Best Fastpass ride - Big Thunder Mountain - much shorter walk than the normal queue, which takes about ten minutes to get through even if there is no-one in front of you. And if you use it when the ride is realy quiet, the staff sometimes don't take you Fastpass from you, so you can use it again, and again.....

5. pirate: Best ride for staying warm and out of the rain :umbrella: - Pirates of the Caribbean

6. :) Biggest bargains for munchies - Joint McDonalds in Disney Village (same price as at home) and Pizza Belle Notta (pizza was too big for little old me!)

7.:cutie: Most "Ahhhhh" moment- five year old boy slo-mo running to the music from Chariots of Fire in the Studios

8. :scratchin Most Surreal moment - being applauded on the "Red Carpet" by Disney Cast Members when leaving the Studios

9. ::MickeyMo - Missed the point award - best part of Peter Pan was humming along to Gilbert and Sullivan music in the queueing area.

10. :tilt: Don't do just after lunch - Star Tours. Nuff said...

Hi Ruthie :)

Thank you for your very enjoyable post :) !

I don't ride Indiana Jones but my family and friends have not enjoyed the ride too much either, partly because their heads knocked against the seats.

Wow - must have been a very quiet day if Big Thunder had no lines!!

Glad you had a great time :) !

Loved your awards! I agree with you - RnR is THE BEST, and Indiana Jones... once in my life was enough. I also agree about the AP - 119 for an entire year is just a steal! And add the 10% off on all food and everything in the shops... it really is a great deal.
It's actually one of my fantasies to have a whole day in a Disney park ALL ALONE! (But, it's also my fantasy to have a whole day in my own home alone...or.. anywhere! LOL ... guess it's every Mom's fantasy til all the kids fly the coop...)
Glad you had fun!

must have been a quiet day if indiana jones had no queue either, i went last october, got 3 fast passes and still waited over 45 mins:mad:

I'm looking forward to riding Indiana Jones next month. From what I remember I enjoyed riding it last time. But each to their own opinion:D I am really looking forward to RnRC. Is it the same as the one at WDW? I loved that.

..being the same as in Florida, but I'm sure that you won't be disapointed! Just make sure that you don't join the queue just after the stunt show has finished next door, you'll be waiting for a long time as at least half of the 3000 people coming out of the show will seem to join it! Or get a fastpass for that time, and just be realy smug and walk past them all! The stunt show lasts about 45 minutes, so check out the times for the program and plan ahead.

Having been on Indiana Jones in Disneyland, the ride in DLP is not quite what I was expecting! My advice would be to wear ear-muffs, or at least make sure that you aren't wearing earings......

As much as I enjoyed the freedom of being at DLP on my own, no arguements about which rides to go on and where to eat, it was also quite a lonely experience at times. When something funny happens, or you realy enjoy a ride, you want to share it with someone. Hence I am here...... Just need to find myself a man who isn't afraid of going upside down once in a while!;) :upsidedow

Anybody else got any nominations?

For the awards, not for a man:p Having said that, if there are any around..........

Excellent post Ruthie, and I fully concur with all your 'awards' !

And Danauk, yes, RnRC is the same as at MGM in ride mechanics, but it has a different pre-show and theme (you are taken on an 'experimental' new ride with Steve Tyler and the boys, and it is more like being in a {very fast!} rock video rather than riding the 'limo' to the band's LA concert. The whole lighting package is different and gives it a very different 'feel.' The music is the same, though! Well worth trying both versions, IMHO).

Love those! I didn't get to experience the red carpet applause. Cool idea.
