Hiya,

Sorry I haven't been here for soooooo long. I only tend to post here when we're planning a DLP holiday as I find it too difficult to to be reminded of how brilliant it is there when I know I won't be going (iyswim).

Anyway, DH wants to go again  . Usually we go to HNY, but this time he wants to try the DLH! Yippee!!!!! We haven't been for 2 years now and I'm soo excited. I couldn't sleep last night, even though it's 9 months away and I haven't even booked yet!!!!

Please could you tell me why it's a great hotel to go to. I've read the info on the sticky thread and have looked at the Disney site, but am interested in finding out what makes it special for you personnally. Is it worth the extra money?

I have a son who'll be almost 4 by the time we're planning to go (in Sept). He loves the characters and the DLH, as we usually go for a character dinner in Inventions on the last day of our stay. Last time we went he asked if we could live there! Bless!

Hope someone can help,

Sleepysox

Here are some threads which we had in the last days regarding my favourite hotel. (Including many pictures)

And here are two of my albums with some DLH pictures in it:

If I could afford it I would stay there on every visit. (I wish I could afford to stay at the CC soon)

For me it is the most beautiful Disney hotel. I am a huge fan of Mainstreet USA and the DLH feels like part of the Mainstreet. We always had the feeling of sleeping in the park.
And even if you don’t have a park view (CC) room you will have a great stay. Especially in the morning and afternoon when Fantasia Garden is empty and you are alone in this area. :cloud9:

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel last week and it was beautyful.

1. You are very close to the parks. Strange feeling the first time. But it is very convienent if you want to pick something up from your room or bring something back.
2. It's not as pink as is seems from the outside ;)
3. Breakfast variety is great. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausages, 5 diff. kind of cereals, apple juice orange juice...
4. Before you enter breakfast, characters are wandering around in the corridors and you can have your foto taken with them. Advice: Go early (about 8 a.m.) so you have more time to spend with the characters all by youself. Goofy was playing with DD (14m) about 5 min.
5. Service is great. We found chocolat coins every evening on our pillows.

I think, it's definately worth some extra money, but at the end it is a little bit overpriced.
But that doesn't mean, I won't go again someday :rolleyes1

That is another huge benefit of the DLH. Like HNY they have a second room service every evening. They clean you room a second time, close the curtains, make your bed ready for the night and place some chocolate coins on every pillow. :cloud9:

By the way Reiana: Why haven't we seen a Trip Report with hundreds of pictures here on the board? ;) :rolleyes1

@Marcus

The problem IS the hunderds of pictures, about 700 pics. I still didn't have the time to sort them out.
But I'll do my very best. ;)

I rung up and got a quote from them today for novmber. Am very tempted to book now lol!

thelittlemermaid83 when are you going? when do the prices go up to i want to book for dec 15th or 16th are the prices out now :goodvibes

No them ones are not out yet, the dates i got quoted on was bonfire night week. Think they only had 10 rooms left, but if i decide i want to go i wont be booking till april and them rooms may of gone.

But i will be staying in the DLH if not this year then definatly next :)

I also got a quote for CC and the difference was a extra £600:scared1: so that room may have to wait till i meet someone VERY rich :rotfl:

Thanks for all your thoughts.

I think the DLH is the way to go. I like the idea of being close to the park and the good breakfasts!!! I also like the idea of meeting the characters before breakfast. I like the 'main street' style hotel. I love the lobby of the DLH and think the bedrooms look just as nice.

I'm not sure CC is within our budget just yet- maybe if we win the lottery!

Lovely photos Markus. They make me want to go there right now!

I'm going to go and start planning the restaurants for each evening next!

Thanks again everyone,

Sleepysox:)

Hi Ware bears,
Thanks I will. I love DLP and usually get very excited when planning my hols there, but the DLH will make it extra special.

DS is 3 and has spent this evening playing the parade CD from our last trip pretending to be in the parade. (He even tries to do the dance routine!). I don't think I'm going to tell him about our trip, (if I can keep a secret until Sept) and then he'll realise when he can see the castle from the Eurostar window. He'll be so surprised and excited!

I'll probably be back with more questions soon,
All the best,

Sleepy:)

i didnt know you could see the castle from the eurostar window
Next time im gonna wear my glasses lol

Hiya,
Yes, it's on the right hand side, about 10 mins before you arrive at the station if I remember rightly.

I look for it every time. It always gives me the shivers to see it again!

i love lots of things about this hotel but my favourite has to be the night time view of mainstreet and the castle lit up and shimmering . We normally sit on the windowseat in the glass walkways and just gaze at the view. We do this every night of our stay (I always have a lump in my throat).this may make me sound a bit mad but maybe i am. :rotfl2: enjoy your stay:yay:

It's a lovely view. We always go to Inventions on the last night of our stay and spend time just looking at the castle in the dark. It's so magical. I can't wait to be able to do that every night. I know what you mean about having a lump in your throat. I feel like that too. Disney is such a special place. I know it's expensive, but it's worth every penny imo.

I read somewhere that you could actually stay in the castle in WDW as a special prize for being the millionth person through the turnstiles or something like that. It's a shame that isn't possible in DLP.

Sleepy:)

that would be amazing if it happened. My dd11 says when she grows up she 's going to be an imagineer and ask roy disney to build us a room in one of the turrets. they do say dreams come true at disney:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thats how i feel, and thats why i want to stay in the DLH. It is yes a lot of money but i want to stay there at least once during my Disney trips. Im just in the process of deciding what month next year me and dd will be staying in there :)

My family & I + Grandparents are staying at the DLH a month from now. After reading this thread & seeing the great photos (thankyou Marcus) l am looking forward to it more than ever.
