DLH Room Question

Hi

We are scheduled to arrive in DL staying at the DLH late this month. We have always stayed at PP previously and I am wondering about the DLH. I have heard people like the DLH better. We are staying in a Theme Park View Room and was told by the DLR rep that it would be on the mid/upper floors. Any ideas where this room may be located? Or do I need to call and request a certain "tower"? I am reading about the different towers and wonder if there are theme park views from all the towers or just certain ones.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

Tammy

We have stayed twice at DLH, including last week. We have stayed in the Dreams tower both times with a DTD view. We can see parts of DL and CA park from the room. It is the closest to the monorail as well as to DTD. I prefer this tower due to the view and being able to see the fireworks. We were on the sixth floor.

The hotel has three towers that make an incomplete 3 sided square with the Peter Pan Poll in the middle. When you are told you have a park view, it is actually park/pool view. If you want a park view, you'll need to be in either the middle towere or the towere by the Sorcerer's Hat. Sorry I don't know the new names of the towers. We've stayed in the Sierra Tower twice and loved it. You can call the hotel two weeks in advance and the day before arrival and restate your request. Your room may not be available at check in and may require you to get your room late in the day (we always get there around 10:00am since we take an early flight from Texas). I would call the hotel directly and depend on what Disney Travel tells you.

Right now I have a DTD view room in the Dreams/Sierra Tower. I asked for a fireworks view, but the person on the phone said that's only available at the concierge level. Is this correct?

Not too sure. When we stayed concierge at DLH, we were in the Sierra/Dreams Tower with a pool view one floor from the top floor. We did see our hotel room neighbor in the concierge lounge as well.

If you get a DTD view in the Dreams Tower you will be able to see the Fireworks. Here's the view you'll have.

However, you won't get to hear the awesome soundtrack that accompanies them and truly makes the show truly special.

Can you hear the music from any of the hotel rooms, or only if you're watching the fireowrks at DL? I definitely don't want to miss the music!!

I belive the only hotel room that piped in the music for the fireworks was the disney dreams suite when it was in DLH. The music can be heard in the concierge lounges of GCH & DLH as well as the rooftop pool in PPH.

At the GCH, I've only stayed in DTD view rooms because I want to see fireworks. They have a channel on TV that you turn to that broadcasts the music and words of the fireworks. To be clear, 3 times, 3 different DTD view rooms; all had the music/spoken words broadcast during the fireworks.

I have stayed several times at DLH and everytime have booked a DTD view room and was able to see the fireworks from the 6th floor, 8th floor, and another floor I cannot remember - maybe 9th? Anyway, if you are on that side of the Dreams tower you will see the fireworks except for the rooms that are obstructed by the elevator. The last time we went (a short time ago) we were on the 6th floor and we were on the "wrong" side of the elevator shaft but we were so far over to the right we still had a "fireworks view". As for the music on TV, for some reason we didn't check!

Hope this helps.

We just got back from our stay in the Dreams tower. We did not have a DTD view, rather a view of the peter pan pool. But I have to say that I thought the view of the pool area was lovely. I enjoyed watching people swimming around (not too many folks, it was pretty chilly, lol) and the whole area is just beautiful.

That's great info for future stays at GCH. We've stayed there twice but only once with a DTD view. We absolutely loved our room and our view. It was a bit of pain walking down those never ending hallways but loved the atmosphere and accessibility.

If you were there Friday afternoon DS was the only one in the pool for a couple hours!
