DLH Questions

1)Is there a tower where all or most of the standard rooms with 2 queen beds have day beds? And, in the rooms without a daybed, what is in that space? Is there just more empty space in the room, or are the daybeds replaced with a chair or bench or something?

2) Where can I find a current map of the DLH property?

3) How much does it cost to "drive" the Remote-Controlled Jungle Cruise Boats?

The room we were in that did not have the daybed/sofa was just a smaller room. There were the two beds, a desk and the armoire with the TV, and not a lot of empty space.

Everytime we have gone we have stayed in the Sierra Tower (faces DTD). We always had two queens and one day bed. You can request this as well.

Can I horn in on your thread here? This is the second post I've seen that talks about the remote controlled jungle boats. What are those? Are they only at the Disneyland hotel? I also saw a post about extra activities for kids at the hotels but can't find any more details on that. I must be looking in the wrong place.

I am planning our first trip and my hubby would like to stay in a Disneyland hotel to 'get the whole experience'. I am the only one in my family of six that has been to DL before and that was over 15 years ago. My question is it worth it? Why are they so different than the other hotels in the area? I haven't even been able to get any quotes for 6 people, only five. I guess I need to call someone instead of doing it online. I can't find pictures except for one room. Can someone head me in the right direction to get more individual info on the Disneyland hotel or Paradise Pier?

I would suggest going to trip advisor and you should find some more pics of the hotels. The resort hotels are closer and some added Disney magic is more of a part of their experience.

Welcome. I love to stay at the Disneyland Hotel. You can get most of your answer through Disneyland Hotel the number is 714 778 6600 press 1 not sure if you have to press 1 again but they can help or disney vacation. And that number will get you to disney vacation.

They are just remote control boats in a little water area, and you pay something like a dollar for 2 or 3 minutes of driving them around, it's a good way to spend $5 or $10, depending on how many kids you have and how long it takes for them to figure out how to drive them, .

There are lots of people here who can give you the pros and cons of staying onsite vs offsite. I finally decided that although it's expensive, it's worth it for us to at least do it once. We are going as a family of six this time since we are taking my MIL. The key if you want to book online is when you are entering the amount of people you want to click the little link that says groups of 5+, it will take you to a different booking page and you will be able to enter all 6 members of your family. You should then be given the option of 1 or 2 bedroom suites, which will hold everyone in your family. The key to offsite options is to either look for hotels with suites in the name or book 2 rooms. Onsite you can book two rooms, but the price for two rooms usually ends up being the same or a little more than the suites. And if it gets to be too much, call the hotel directly or if you definitely want the package you can call the WDTC as well.

If you do a google search for Disneyland hotel pictures, you should get some that way. There doesn't seem to be a lot of room pictures out there. I'm definitely going to be taking a bunch when I'm there next month, lol.

Do they do extra activities just for hotel guests? I thought that I read somewhere on the boards that they had childrens activities but can't find it now and for some reason this site is extrememly slow on my computer. It takes ages to get from one page to the next.

I definitely plan on posting a trip report with pictures when I get back, so you can count on that.

I know that the GC has storytime for kiddos as well as childcare. But, I don't think DLH has anything extra like that. But, if you are staying onsite I believe you can still attend the storytime and use the childcare.

We have stayed at DLH twice and didn't see anything extra for the kiddies except in the E-Ticket lounge (concierge). The pool was the big draw for us. Coolest pool around! My DH was like yours for our first trip, "if we're going to Disneyland, we're gonna do the full experience and stay at the Disneyland hotel". We were all thrilled and not disappointed!! The ambiance is awesome. It really is magical for the kids.

If you're staying at DLH you can use the GCH daycare for a cost. It's $13 per hour/child and they accept children between the ages of 5 and 12.

I am in a party of 6, 3 adults and 3 kids. We were able to book one room, a suite at on off-site hotel by calling the reservation # through www.disneyland.com. We tried booking online but it would not allow our party size as well. As far as extra kids activities go, I know the Grand has "babysitting" in the evenings and offers wine and cheese for adults in the afternoon. I would love to stay on-site bc I think it increases the experience but we could not afford it, so if it is in your budget I say do it!! The last time I stayed at DLH I was 7 and I was there with just my dad. Mom stayed home with my new baby sister.

We stayed at DLH in December and they had a Pirates Trivia Challenge for kids. We never did it, but it sounded interesting. You pick up your "instructions" at the front desk between 8:00-10:00 am and then you ride Pirates and look for the clues.

Have you checked out the sticky's? There are lots of aerial maps, some with labels, of the entire DLH resort.

1- I believe all towers have the same ratio. Your best bet is to call the hotel or WDTC.
