So I have PP booked for our last nite in Dec., for $10 more we can stay at the DLH ~ where would you stay? Which one if either would be better for swimming the 2nd week of Dec.?

Well, I've never stayed at DLH but for $10 more I would do it.

I have stayed at the PPH and I loved it!! But the DLH is still unknown to me. :)

I like Paradise Pier more since the rooms have a beach theme. However, the pool is much nicer at the Disneyland Hotel. If you plan on swimming, I would choose Disneyland Hotel.

I believe the pool at the PP is not heated, so December may be a tad chilly for taking a dip ;) Either hotel should be nice, but for only $10, I would probably go with the DLH :thumbsup2

^^^ PPH pool is heated. During the warmer months when my girls will spend 2-3 hours in the pool we stay at DLH otherwise we stay at PPH. The jacuzzi at PPH is much warmer than the one at DLH and we prefer that when it's chilly out. We do like having Croc's Bits and Bites nearby at DLH.

I have only stayed at the PPH. However, with there only being a $10 difference, I would go w/ the DLH. We're staying there on our upcoming trip because the price difference is only a couple hundred bucks. Ten dollars is even better! I know the pool at PPH is heated, and they have a great waterslide. My goal is to have stayed at all three hotels, so I'm looking forward to trying out the DLH for a change.

I'd go with DLH...especially for only $10 more. It's the original, and the pool is AMAZING! If you've not seen pictures of it, do an image search...you won't be disappointed pirate:

For me the 2nd week of Dec will be too cold to swim, but maybe not too cold to slide! PP's slide does not empty into the big pool, so you can slide, and run around and slide etc....then jump into the hot tub.
The DL hotel's pool is so big it is very hard to heat.

I like them both, but I have more recently stayed at PPH (including just a few days ago). Now, the PPH has the same cute Mickey head bottles in the bathrooms that DLH has, so we were not missing anything there!

IF you do stay at PPH, beware of room 513!!! That is where we just were. It was almost level with the pool area. Anyway, the armoire had a drawer that was haunted and would not stay shut. It kept opening on its own and my friend tripped over it in the middle of the night.

Then, in the bathroom, the water from the faucet smelled TERRIBLE - it smelled like sulfur...or sewage...It was gross, especially when we turned it on to brush our teeth and had to rinse with it. Yuck! I have never had that situation at PPH before. Otherwise PPH is very clean and it looks a little newer than the DLH, but DLH has more fun stuff like the waterfall and koi fish pond. Also, PPH is convenient to take the "short cut" to DTD and DL/DCA, because you can just cut across the street to the GCH and walk through their lobby to get to DTD and the entrances to the parks.

But PPH was not on their game this time - the CM who checked me in forgot to give us our parking pass or tell us about early entry, as they usually do. She also spelled my name wrong on my Key to the Magic, AND she went ahead and connected my friend's key to my debit card, which I did not want her to do. I only wanted my key to be attached the the card, not my friend's, and they should have asked before they did that!

DLH hands down.

To me, for the most part, PP kind of felt like staying offsite.....only paying at the higher onsite prices.

We had TONS of magic at the DLH.
