Hi! I have a reservation at DLH pending, but it will be about $300 more for my 3 day trip than say Candy Cane or HoJo. What would you do? I was trying to get a AAA package, but there are no more rooms on site. Help!!!

You'll never get a definitive answer to this question due to the fact the board divides up two ways:

(a) those who believe that staying at a Disney hotel is essential, in order for you to get the full Disney magic.

(b) those (like me) who think they're going to spend most hours in the park anyway and can't justify spending that sort of money on a hotel.

I stayed in HoJo and loved it - it's 10 minutes walk from the parks (about the same as DLH) has big rooms, great staff, a nice heated pool and a great place to eat right across the street - Mimi's.

Others who've stayed at Candy Cane are just as enthusiastic.

Difference comes down to the fact that HoJo has a pool and a slightly bigger rooms but no breakfast, while CCI has no pool but includes a continental breakfast.

I just wanted to say the Candy Cane Inn DOES have a pool. And they have a hot tub also. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon and LOVED it! The people there are really nice and friendly. We are going to stay there again in December.

Apologies - remember some comment about the pool - must have been that HoJo had better or bigger pool.

Candy Cane also has the free shuttle that runs every half hour. The walk is very convienent, but when your dogs are barking it's nice to know there is a ride waiting for you.
