When I placed my reservations I asked about the fridge in the room, she said it was more like a cooler and wasn't sure if my stuff would really be cold. We want to keep milk, yogurt, soda and water in there. Not to worried about the soda and water but really the milk and yogurt need to be cold.

Can anyone confirm or give me any other information about the fridge? I know it's like a dorm size one right?

The refrigerator in the rooms at the DLH are dorm size and can keep your milk and food fresh...if you have a problem with the refrigerator...call the front desk or housekeeping and they will fix or replace the fridge...jc

The first thing I do when I get in my room is to turn the refrigerator as cold as it can go. They usually have them set pretty warm. After that, things are fine in the refrigerator.

Ours have always been fine. I've had a couple that were so cold they started to freeze our water and orange juice so we just turned them down a little.

That is the second time I've heard this, somebody at DL reservations telling a person booking a stay at DLH, that the fridges aren't cold enough to keep milk and meat safe. What is the deal with that? I wonder if it's one particular person who just doesn't have a clue about mini-fridges? Of course they're cold enough, they're built to hold food at 35 degrees! if they didn't, the company couldn't legally sell them! They'd have to have warning labels plastered all over them to prevent lawsuits.

We have a mini-fridge in our garage, half the size of the hotel ones, and it regularly freezes the water bottles on one side close to the little freezer compartment. It's very cold!

I agree. 2 years ago, we used our mini-fridge to keep milk, yogurt and cream cheese cold. It worked just fine. We were at the Disneyland Hotel.

Another tip....since we won't have a car, I called Albertson's and they delivered our groceries! I ordered them on-line from Albertson's, they were delivered and the bell boy from DLH brought them to our room. It was really wonderful, since we always start our day with a mini-bagel w/cream cheese, yogurt....and of course, we need some milk to go with our cookies!

We will be returning next Monday and I plan to do the same thing. I'll keep you posted if there are any changes with Albertson's and/or DLH policy about grocery delivery. Oh, and btw, we ordered a case of bottled water, too. It was nice to always have cold water in the fridge.

And I didn't feel like we were taking advantage of any dining services. WE always have reservations at at least one (and sometimes 2) Disney dining restaurants every day......and enjoy room service at least once or twice during our one week stay.

Hope this helps!
Just a few more days till the 21st! "I'm too excited to sleep!" :goodvibes Do you just LOVE that little boy on that Disney TV commercial?!?
