DLH Facilities

Just wondering if anyone can answer the following about the facilities in the DLH:

1. Tea/coffee making facilities or just a kettle?

2. What is the charge for the safe?

3. Is the hairdryer ok? I am a compulsive obsessive about hair washing.

4. What is the best view or room to request? Or should I not bother?

Is there anything else I should know about staying at the DLH? Any words of experience / wisdom would be welcome to help me make the most of my stay at the palace.

In our room we had no kettle or tea making stuff and we didn't request one.

There is no charge to use the safe in your room.

I used the hairdryer each day and it was fine.

We had a nice view over Fantasia Gardens. I think you can pay extra for a view, but it gets so dark so early - how much will you see?

Ooooooh just enjoy. Use the pool at quiet times if you can - it feels so luxurious when it is empty of others.

Take lots and lost of photos - it is lovely to look back on and remember the luxury of it all.

Most of your questions have been answered already. I requested a nice view over Fantasia Gardens and we were given a room with one of the balconies on overlooking Fantasia Gardens. We could also see the Tower of Terror from there and the Disney village sign lit up at night. As my parents were with us we requested connecting rooms which we were also given.
Also about the safe if you have items that will not fit in the safe there is a secure room you can use free of charge down stairs. We had taken laptops with us and they stored them there for us when we were not using them. The day we checked in they didn't have any of the secure room cabinets left that would fit the laptops in so they put them in the management safe for us.

Karen, did you phone the hotel? I don't suppose you have a contact number for the DLH?

I requested that when we booked (I just phoned the regular reservations line so maybe try that number.) They also said they would note on my reservation that I was a frequent visitor and shareholder so I don't know if that helped get a really nice room.

My DH phoned the DLH to request a half bottle of champagne to be left in the room (to celebrate my birthday) & to request a room with a nice view. He was told to put it in an email along with a scanned copy of his credit card. He emailed it off yesterday, but the email didn't send so he phoned again today, got another email address & tried that one. He requested that they let him know by email that they received this one, but hasn't heard anything back, so he is going to phone again tomorrow. I hope they provide glasses with the champagne.

He requested that they let him know by email that they received this one, but hasn't heard anything back, so he is going to phone again tomorrow. I hope they provide glasses with the champagne.

The half bottle of champagne was 35 euro but could have been up to 100 euro Let's hope for that price I get something else as well (preferably a cuddly toy) and that they leave champagne glasses too, otherwise we will be drinking champagne out of my 2 year old's plastic cup! What are you thinking of requesting?

I was thinking champagne and balloons but at that price maybe I'll bring my own, LOL!
