Has anyone had any success getting any type of early checkin? DS2 takes a nap at 1, and I'm trying to figure out how to finangle that.

Also, are there laundry facilities? We'll be staying in California for 11 days, and I'm trying to figure out where we'll do laundry.

Thanks!

Yes there is a laundry room at DLH.

We check in early, going through the process and getting keycards, but we haven't gotten a *room* early as far as I recall. I recommend a stroller-nap that day for DS.

As Bumber said, there is a laundry room--although I have never used it there.

We have stayed at the Disneyland Hotel once or twice a year for the last 10 years, and so far have never been given our room before check in time. We check in early, and they will store our luggage for us--and then text us when our room is ready. This is typically around 3:00 or 3:30.

Our most recent trip we stayed at the Grand Californian, and I was shocked that they texted me at noon to say our room was ready. The resort hotels tend to be so booked up that early check in isn't that common.

When we stayed at the PPH last summer our room was ready when we got there, at around 9:30 am. :thumbsup2

I did put a note on my reservation letting them know we would be arriving early. I knew it was a possibility that our room wouldn't be ready but it was sure nice to be able settle in and clean up a bit (we left our house at 3 am for an early flight) before heading the parks.

Okay-so glad to hear about the laudry! I'll put in a request for an early check in. REally, I"d even pay for it. DS doesn't sleep in the stroller. If he's excited about something, he won't even sleep in the car. But, give him a crib- and he'll sleep 3 hours. He just gets to be uber uber cranky, tantrumy and no fun to be around sans nap.

Actually, right now, you will have to use the laundry facilities at the Paradise Pier Hotel, as the building that housed the laundry and gym are closed due to the refurb.

It will be painful, but do-able. Maybe you could ask for permission to use the PP pool area or something (there is an arcade at the PP hotel and also a kids tv room too) while doing laundry duty. When we last stayed at the PPH, we had to do the same in reverse...didn't like carting the laundry all the way between hotels.

My friends that have stayed at Paradise Pier tell me that they have been able to check in early--but unfortunately this is really rare at the disneyland hotel which is a totally different animal....
