DLH construction impact

I was there from Tues noon til Thurs AM. I was in the Fantasy tower, 11th floor facing the pool. In my room I heard nothing. Out by the pool, I could hear some of the noise from the demo of the movie theater, but really heard nothing from the DVC going up.

We were at Disneyland Hotel June 29-July 2. The first night we were in a Downtown Disney view room in Adventure tower. The construction didn’t bother us at all.
The next 2 nights we were on the 8th floor in Frontier and the construction was very loud. It was right outside our window and really put a damper on our stay there. I think how the construction impacts guests really depends on where your room is. 28841089-4794-46C7-905E-0E19279B4629.jpeg590722C8-35B5-4EEC-A3FC-A6CEE1684FFA.jpeg86969BB2-7A71-47AE-A546-818D54231B0A.jpeg89464E98-B8AF-4B55-8110-F2F4822FED72.jpegE82D5B10-FA53-4A5E-B9DF-EB19EE616185.jpegE0DEFC0D-CF27-47A5-8D3B-FB4E9A0D6E8D.jpeg058AFF3C-FA09-4635-8F27-1DE05E4C18C4.jpegD146FB6D-696A-4C2D-B6CD-90B1F4DAA616.jpegDD1E983A-96EF-4AE7-BF49-A9041E960A91.jpeg

We also have a trip coming in April. Does anyone know the timeline on the DVC project well enough to know what phase construction will be in next spring?

It "scheduled" to open in late 2023.

What type of room did you have the second part of your stay?

We're booked for a "premium view/club level" end of August. Is that construction mess close to the tower/room we'll be in?

Ugh all the threads and reports are giving me a pause on DLH for our December trip. I prefer the hotel to the GC personally but have only stayed at each once so maybe that was just dumb luck.

We will be spending each afternoon by the pool unless the weather is awful. We're from the Washington coast so the kids will swim as long as it's 60-65!

I am thinking I should make a GC reservation as a backup plan. Once I settled on DLH I was thinking of all the things we could do with the extra $900 by not staying at the GC.

Anyone think they'll do a discount this winter? Also I booked through Costco, would I be able to get the discount on my room since I booked through them?

I'm worried about construction too for our August trip. But ultimately hope DLH is the right choice still based on Disney theming (our first trip) and the pool. We have pool days planned and my son is excited for the slides. DLH looks like it has the better pool/slides.

If a discount comes out, you will have to cancel the Costco package and rebook through Disney. There is a good chance for a discount in December, prior to about Dec 15.

I'd say the slides themselves are better at DLH, but the actual pools are much better at GCH. You can actually swim in them. At DLH it gets so crowded that you can kind of just stand in them and walk around.

GCH has 3 large pools. DLH has one large and one small one.

Oh good our dates are before that. I went ahead and booked GC for the same timeframe and will cancel one at some point.

The construction was very loud in the pool area when we were there at the beginning of July. Hopefully that will have calmed down by the time you go.

I don't think so. This room was a 2 bedroom connecting suite in Frontier tower.

Our first night we were in a Premium room view/club level. We were in Adventure tower and we had an awesome view of Downtown Disney.

I suppose you never know exactly what tower you will be in, though. You could call and request Adventure or Fantasy.

You will be on one of the top floors in the Adventure tower facing Downtown Disney. The construction will not be near your room and you won’t be able to see/hear it from there.

I requested Frontier for September and it looks like I may regret that. We will be at the Expo all day, so maybe it won't bother us though.

Not necessarily. They could be facing the pool. We had a room facing the pool this past weekend. Noise from the new tower was non-existent on the weekends, but there was some noise heard on Monday and Tues am.
