DLH construction impact

I find it funny we are all commenting here and there is a disneyland hotel super thread that gets NO love lol..

That being said, I am hoping to get our standard room in fantasy tower. I have watched videos and I want the theming of fantasy tower. How do I request this? Do I do it when I do online check in a week before? Should I call? I mean it won't be the end of the world but since this is our major splurge dream and we are staying 7 nights I really want it lol
You'll need to call and they'll tell you it isn't guaranteed but they'll make a note of it. Fantasy Tower is nice! We've never had a room there but go over for the shops.

I *think* there is only 1 Jr 2 bedroom connecting suite. I will see if I can get someone to tell me where it is. I believe thee layout is wrong in the description and it should bee 1 king bed in the main room, 2 queens in the connecting room and a sofa sleeper that folds out to a queen.
That's the one.

We stayed in the 2 room family connecting suite in June, all of the pictures I posted on this thread are from that suite. It's supposed to be able to sleep 6-10 people. We had 2 king beds and a small sofa bed.

So ours was at the end of the hall and there were double doors. You open those and are in a little foyer. To the left was a door to a bedroom with a king bed, desk and bathroom, and balcony with views of the parking lot and construction.
The door on the right led to a larger suite. This had a half bath, wet bar, living room with sofa bed and a fluffy chair and a desk. There was a sink, mini fridge and cabinets in the wet bar. Windows on all sides overlooked the pool and construction. This room had a second balcony.
Through the living room area was another bedroom with a king bed and full bathroom. There was a dresser also. This room had a huge window overlooking the pool and construction.
All of the rooms had tvs and a dresser.
We left the doors between the rooms open the whole time so it was like one giant suite, but you could close the doors if you wanted to. The double doors leading in from the main hallway lock.
So if there is actually only 1 2 bedroom family connecting suite it would be the one that you stayed in which is on the 8th floor of the frontier tower? It looks like it does have a balcony though correct?

Yes, it has 2 balconies and it was on the 8th floor. I'm not sure if it's the only one of that suite type, though. I wondered if there might have been one on the other end of the hall.

Pretty sure the 2-bedroom connecting family suite and the 2-bedroom JUNIOR connecting family suite are in different room categories. It's the smaller junior with the king in one bedroom that we're interested in.

Here is a breakdown:

Deluxe View: view of pool from lower floors (faces inwards)

Premium View: views of pool from upper floors (faces inwards)

Premium Downtown Disney View: upper floors of Adventure tower (faces away from the pool)

If your reservation just says "Premium View" you will have a pool view in one of the three towers on the upper floors (8 and up).

The Downtown Disney Premium View is a higher room rate category and is ONLY rooms in Adventure tower.

The rooms facing away from the pool in Fantasy and Frontier tower are all Standard View rooms or suites. The lower floors of Adventure tower facing Downtown Disney are also standard view. We were in a room on the 4th floor of Adventure tower in April and it was standard view.
We are waiting at gate at airport and just got notice our room is ready and assigned! Floor 6 in adventure tower. Hope its a good one!

**EDIT** It was a really nice room! We had views of the pool area and although the construction was almost straight across from us we didn't mind. Only half the view was construction. We could still see the sunset. We could look down at the pool area and see the tiki torches lit at night at Trader Sam's below- watch people in the pool and walking along the sidewalks between the 3 towers.

We were hoping for a room with 2 beds. I went downstairs to ask at front desk late Thursday night on arrival and seeing our room. We did online check in and didn't even have to stop at front desk. The employee was very polite, went to back office to check, said to come back early the next am and ask to be noted on our account. Then to check at 11 when the switch over was done -
We decided after sleeping well that we didn't need to switch. (DS likes to spread way out in bed....I only need a little room on edge)

We headed to park and when we took a break mid day we had a knock on door and employee opened it promptly himself. I was a little shocked that he just knocked and came in!
He said he had a note that we were moving rooms ..his English wasn't great and I explained we didn't chose to move anymore and I had not followed up that morning to do so.
He said I had to go to front desk and talk to them and I politely said no were headed back to the park and didn't have time....could HE follow up with the front desk for us?
He agreed and we didn't hear back again. I appreciate the fact they followed up without my prompting but didn't like he just walked in.

I will try to post pics of our room /view soon!
