A couple of people have told me that my AP quoted rate for the DLH is really high. I booked a standard room for one night on July 16th is $270 = $320 after tax and resort fee. Does this sound right to you?

It could be. If your dates are not in the AP special rate, the regular AP rate is not that great. If you already have an AP, you can log on to the site and see the best possible rate for your dates there.

EDIT: I did just check and the currently advertised AP rate for July 16 is $279. Keep in mind that it may change before then if they come out with a new AP deal. Just keep checking and call back to get the better rate.

In agreement with Stacerita!

Right now you're just getting the 10% off. There are no special special rates for July...there might not be any, it depends on if they start booking up or not. So that might be the price you will be paying.

Ok thanks you two! I am a gentle bargain hunter... I'm not very aggressive about it. It sounds sad but I'm selling a bunch of stuff on ebay right now so I can pay for my AP in full so I can get it sooner than July 5th when I go to the parks. They won't let me do the payment plan unless I'm at DL for some reason. Does that sound right? They said there's a paper that I need to fill out that can't be don online, through the mail or by fax. Sounds sketchy to me. Should I contact another CM?

The non-AP-holder AP-info pages on disneyland.com do state to go to the main ticket booths to get the AP with monthly payments.

Just get the money together...you don't need to get it ahead of time, it wouldn't be activated and probably wouldn't have the right info on it to register it on disneyland.com anyway. If you get the full amount together, however, you could order the AP as an e-voucher, but that would be the total cost, not by payments...if you do that, you just take the printed voucher to the gates, hand it over to the CM, and they'll give you a ticket-shaped voucher that you would take to the AP processing center that day, to have a picture taken etc, and get your AP.

OR if you won't be going to the parks before checking into the hotel, you could add the cost of the AP onto your DLH room and pick up whatever it is they would give you (to take over to process at the AP center) when you check in.

Otherwise just do it at the ticket booths with the payments. :)

If you check with DHL the current offer I got for no discount, 2 days starting on July 16th was for $655.00 and Paradise Pier was $585.00 and Grand Californian was $905.00. AP rates currently listed are $590 DLH, $527 for Paradise Pier, and Grand Californian was $815.

I think you should get the Premium because you would save money on hotels.

I'm sorry I barely comprehended any of that... maybe I'm just exhausted and need to re-read it with fresh eyes ;) Thanks so much though I'm sure I'll figure it out. :thumbsup2
