DLH and GCH split stay Dapper Days 2016

Hello all, I need some advice or opinions on whether I should split my 24 April 7 day stay on site.

This will be our first ( and I hate to say only but ...) on site stay and we are currently booked at the Grand for all 7 nts. We love the idea of being so close to CA!!! DD11 loves CA and DH likes the idea of popping back to the hotel for a break while we do more rides.
However reading some of the comments here about the dated feel of the rooms has me questioning my choice. I was thinking about splitting 3 nts at DLH and 4 at GCH making the change-up on our non-park day. Thinking about packing/unpacking twice sounds like a bit of a chore though. Can anyone share their experience? Is it worth it for just 3 days at DLH? Does Bell services transfer your luggage or will we have to wheel our bags through DTD?

WE love GCH. It's so convenient. The bell services will transfer your bags. You'll see the difference in walking is significant

We love the GCH and would gladly stay there all 7 nights! I don't find the rooms to be dated and the location can't be beat!

I love both hotels. I like the ambience and rooms a little more at the DLH, but the walk from GCH beats everything. It's just so convenient. I utilize the monorail a lot when staying at the DLH and after walking to Trader Sam's this last weekend, I was reminded of those times I did stroller rental and had to carry a sleeping child all the way through DTD, tis not fun. Both will be likely be sold out during your dates because of the dapper day convention rates, but I think you would be happy with both. It won't be as inconvenient as switching between a non-resort hotel and one on site because they'll switch the bags over. If you want to experience both hotels, I say go for it, but definitely start with the DLH if you decide on a split.
