My husband and I will be spending 5 nights in a 1 bedroom suite and the Disneyland Hotel and the 5 nights in an Artisan suite at the Grand Californian. Does anyone have information on these suites such as specific room numbers or locations to request?

We are also looking to take the trip to San Diego zoo with ticket and transportation that Disney sells. Has anyone ever done this tour or have any information in terms of the type of transportation, the time of departure, etc.?

Thank you.

I'm not sure about the suites at either hotel, but be sure to request a park view, especially at the Grand Californian, since one side of the hotel is actually in the park.

I went to San Diego Zoo a year and a half ago and was not super impressed. (it was free too!) I guess I heard so much about it, that I had very high expectations.

That being said, if you don't mind a two hour trip (minimum) each way, go for it. If not, try to find another place to visit a little bit closer. I always recommend Knott's Berry Farm if you haven't been there.

Have Fun.

I've done a San Diego trip, (sea world) with the disney transfers that are sold in the package and would not do them again. I'm not a big bus fan anyway, BUT, you first catch a bus, that stops at several hotels and picks everyone up that is doing any tour with transfers. You then go to the bus station, get off your bus, and regroup. You then get on an assigned bus that then takes you to your destination. On the return, your bus then stops at the hotels of all the folks getting off of the bus. I remember it being a REALLY long day. I've heard taking the train to San Diego is fun. I can't quote on the ZOO, its been years ( I don't even want to go there but I remember seeing a pic of myself on the back of a turtle) since I've been.

The artisan suites that I've seen, were all at the very ends of each hallway. Not sure of the location of all of them, but I do know that each floor is laid out the same.
