I came in dead last, yet again, at a local 8K. It was a small field (only 27), and my IT band was acting up, but it's still a bit of a blow to the old ego. I've also been a dead last finisher in the Castaway Cay 5K in March and three local cross country 5Ks (a series) last summer. Each time, I've repeated DLF>DNF>>DNS like a mantra during those last, lonely miles.

So who else has been dead last in an event? Please share your stories so I can stop feeling so alone!

Please do not feel alone! I'll join you! The shorter events are really difficult for me and mostly the fast folks just leave me in the dust. It doesn't deter as long as the course is open. I've also been DLF with a DF who was doing her first. We did it. The folks handling the 5k knew we were going to be slow and all awards were given. Most everyone was done almost all were gone, but we did it!

I'm proud of you! You stick with it and keep getting it done!

Be proud! You did it!

Well another WISHer and I would have been DL except that John Bingham is associated with Run2Victory and the balloon cuties are the official last place finishers. We finished in 3:30 on a very hilly (for me) course that had a 4 hr timelimit. Somebody has to be last, and I had a great time!

PLEASE DO NOT FEEL DISCOURAGED!! DLF>DNF>>DNS

Although I have run a few races in my time..it has taken me a few years to build up to be able to run a 5K, 10K, Half, Full, Goofy......do not feel that you cannot do it. I've been at this at least 10 years or longer and I can only say......If you belive in youself...you can do IT!!:thumbsup2
