If you are visiting the park in early December you might want to make note of a scheduling oddity for December 4 and 5. On those dates, Disneyland will be closing early at 6:00 p.m. for the cast member Christmas parties. In an unusual occurance, Disney's California Adventure park will have a longer day than Disneyland, being open from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Yep it happens every year on the first Monday and Tuesday of December!

I thought I would mention that Candlelight Processional will be on December 2nd and 3rd.

Bummer- DDs bday is the 4th- guess we'll go early or late to celebrate her 2nd bday... Hmmm, maybe the weekend of the Candlelight Processional... I Can't believe there's something at Disneyland I've never done!

My daughter's birthday is the 4th also (though she'll be turning 8). We'll be there on her birthday. The park only closes a couple hours earlier. Usually that day is pretty light with crowds. The weekend will be crowded, so you're basically trading hours for crowds. I know they still do the fireworks and snow right before closing, at least they have in past years. Then you exit the park with all the CMs and their families standing outside trying to get in.

I was there in 2004 the weekend of CP and the days following and I found the park to be crazy packed! Dl was crazy the two days it closed early and DTD was a nightmare following the 6pm close! I think everyone went from DL to DTD at 6pm! We tried to eat dinner at several palces in DTD and the wait times were 2-3 hours long! We ended up going to our hotel and ordering room service.

We will never go at that time of the year again!

We were there for CP last year as well as the early closures.

We made our PS for Goofy's for 6:30. We left the park during the fireworks and got right in for our dinner.

The park had very light crowds that day, we had a great time. The weekend on the other hand was MADNESS.

These are exactly the days we'd planned to go. :( Thanks for posting that...always good to know in advance.

We went last year on Sun Dec 4 (DDs 1st bday) and while we stayed in DCA since MIL and SIL came and chose that park, it didn't seem overly crowded, just typical weekend crowds.
