DL tickets and reservations - April 15!

I follow a few groups on Facebook and they just said BREAKING news - do NOT link your tickets on the app (if you have tickets). The app and the website are different systems and not talking to each other, so those with tickets linked on the app can’t “create their party” and therefore won’t be able to reserve their days on the 12th. Yikes. Bummer for me since I have 6 tickets linked to my account. Hope something is done to fix this soon!
That doesn’t make any sense. It’s my account either way. And my understanding is we’ll be able to book park reservations via the app. 🤷‍♀️

Is there any source to back up their claims?

ETA: how does one unlink them in the app?

The apps clearly are looking at something shared; just aren't displaying it fully on one app vs web . App (no hotel reservations) Online (no ticket information). on MDE reservations can work on both ways and anticipate same. (hopefully).

Not sure! This is what they said:

“BREAKING INFO - DO NOT LINK YOUR TICKETS IN THE APP AT THIS TIME. Please tag all of your friends that you know have tickets or are hoping to make reservations.

I am waiting for info for those that already have tickets linked, but it will cause a problem (as of right now) with the reservation system. Hoping this is fixed before Monday.”

Most people who have tickets already linked them ages ago. And, since the only people who can make reservations on Monday are the ones who have tickets already, either this isn't an issue, or it gets fixed, or nobody is going to be able to make reservations on Monday if they linked tickets in the app.

You can buy tix and make reservations on the WDW app, thinking it will be the same for Dland. I'd heard from another website that someone had called about their so cal 3-day hopper not showing up online, only in their app. The CM said they were working on things to have them interface and that would hopefully be soon. 🧐

I have 3 3day passes and 1 value passes on app. None showing online. Multiple online VGC reservations linked -- none showing on the app.

I’m not trying to be argumentative, just work it out in my own head. They showed in the ticket calendar announcement today that the app is one place to check what ticket type you have. It seems odd to me that they would suggest that if there is a problem with using the app.

There's 4 people in our party, and we all linked all of our tickets to everyone's account. We all saw the tickets in the app, but if we try to enter into the website, it says "The ticket is already linked to an account." My husband tried as a test to delete 1 ticket from the app. Then he went to the website to enter the ticket from there. The next screen says: "This ticket has already been linked to another account as the owner." There is a "confirm" button. When he clicks the button, he gets the message "Sorry we cannot process your request at this time. Please try later. "

When I talked to a cast member a few days ago, they said you can only view tickets in the app, not the website. No idea why this is so difficult!

I wonder if everyone needs to remove their tickets, and only 1 of us has them in our account?

I don’t think having them on multiple accounts is the problem. It’s the website/app talking to each other because I only have ours loaded into my account and I’m having the same problem. But obviously the website is showing them in an account to get that message.

Nobody can say for sure yet, but the wording they've put out thus far suggests that they're just going to do what the other parks are doing and make you check a box where you confirm that you're a CA resident and that you know you have to be a CA resident to get in. They might not block you, per se.

(If that's the case, there's the open question of how badly people will abuse the system, and whether Disney might change things if that happens.)

No indications yet how hard they're going to check at the gate - the current wording says "may" verify residency status.

But, if I were an out-of-state visitor, I wouldn't book anything earlier than June 15. (And, honestly, I personally wouldn't even do that.)

We were supposed to go for a week last May. We had plane tickets, hotel reservations, and undercover tourist park hopper tickets that are good through the first week in January 2022. When we canceled our May 2020 trip, we rescheduled for December 2020, but obviously that didn't happen either. I now have hotel reservations for 8/15-21 at Grand Legacy at the Park, got them when they had their 50% off deal around New Year's. Our plane ticket credits will expire in October, plus with our daughter's college schedule, we really can't go after that week in August anyway. My question is with the undercover tourist tickets, if we already have them, will they be honored, and if so, how do we make the reservation? If Undercover Tourist will refund the tickets I would have no problem re-buying them through Disney, but I'm guessing they probably won't.....how likely is it that out of state visitors will even be able to get 5 days in the parks by 8/15-21? I know nobody has a crystal ball, but I feel like we're kind of at the point we need to just make the plane reservations and hope and pray that we can actually do DL, but our Delta vouchers are going to expire.

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this! Thanks!

Correct. While they can't explain why they don't show up on the website, the account still acknowledges the existence of those tickets. No need to delete or anything else. Thank you for posting this as it confirms this message.

Yeah I'm sure you are right. My husband and I both sent some questions through the chat in the app. I'll reply if they give us any helpful info.

What we're really seeing here is the fault of how DLR handled tickets vs how WDW did it (for MyMagic+).

Until now, for DLR, it wasn't necessary to show tickets on the website. Unlike WDW, they didn't implement user accounts the same way. For example, it was obviously easier for DLR to just add your family and friends' tickets onto your account for use at the gates - which would only be needed on the app.

So I think they're just trying to play catch-up when it comes to the website.

(I still expect that the app will throw you to the website to make park reservations.)

As a developer, I'll acknowledge this: it's not the greatest sign that they haven't fixed the website ticket display on the Friday before the Monday that the system goes live. So I'm not entirely hopeful that Monday is going to be smooth.

If it were me, and I had tickets on hand, I would go ahead and add them via the website just in case, if only because the directions on one of DL's pages explicitly said to do so. It's not out of the question that the Add Ticket form on the website has differently functionality in it than the version on the app.

But that's more in a "it couldn't hurt" vibe. (And also because Disney's website tech has frequently defied what I would consider to be Best Practices.) In any normal siutation, I would fully expect that the app and the website are pulling from the same data, just displaying it differently.

This is what a cm told me, that they are pulling from the same data but the website doesn't have a function to display them🙄 I agree that it doesn't make sense why they didn't think to implement that by now, especially in light of releasing a new reservation system. It's just odd.

I totally agree with you. Problem is, we can't add it to the website if we already added them through the app. It gives us an error saying it's already linked to an account. My husband tried deleting 1 ticket from his app, and adding to the website, and that didn't work either. 🤷‍♀️

I linked my tickets on the website and they automatically showed up in my app. I don't see them anywhere on the website anymore. So do we need to delete them from the app? This is so confusing. Will everything be done on the website instead of the app?

After he added it on the website - did it show back up in the app?

I'm on the same page as ycstevens - I think it's adding, it's just that the coding for display is missing from the website. (Unless they changed something with the website Add Ticket functionality and broke something.) Everything about the Memberships and Passes page looks like it was designed to display affiliations, annual passes, and DVC info - I'm assuming it just hasn't been coded to display tickets once they've been added.

And it's entirely possible that something's broken. Like I said, I don't have a ton of confidence in Disney's tech team.

Then it sounds like we've all done what we can. If loading them on the website puts them on the app, there is no way to not have them on the app.

I can't even figure out how to delete one off the app, so I think I'm stuck either way.

Nope. When he tried to add it on the website, it said something like "Try again later." Tried adding it back on the app, and it doesn't let him add it there either, same message. So I would not recommend deleting tickets from the app.

I don't know how to delete them off the app either🤣🤣🤣 I was thinking oh well its going to be a shot in the dark!
