DL tickets and reservations - April 15!

I'm afraid of the rolling windows too. If after this intial 60 days they only open 1 day at a time I am afraid to wait till all 5 of my days are open to buy my ticket but if I buy a 5 day park hopper and then 1 or more of the days are unavailable then I am stuck with tickets I can't use? UGH

I have a couple travel agent friends (one works for the board sponsor and the other owns her own that a couple other friends work for), so I have reached out to them and asked them what they knew on this question. I would prefer to go through them if it means only have to queue for the theme park reservations and to give them an albeit small commission. I will let you know if I hear back from one of them.

Any update? I have considered this, but I wonder if it will slow me down because once I have my tickets I would have to add them to my account?

What happens if you buy a ticket, make a reservation and then you can't go that day? Can you cancel the reservation and use for a future date? Thanks.

Yes I do beleive you can cancel reservations. Since it doesnt cost anything to make a reservation I dont think there would be any restrictions or fees to cancel.

What would be the benefit to buying third party tickets at this point?
They might use a different access point to purchase the tickets, instead of the one all of us will be using tomorrow. But I don't know!

You have until 11:59pm PT the day BEFORE your park reservation to cancel it and pick another day to go.

I have no idea what happens if you wake up the morning of your park visit feeling sick. Surely they don't want you to go, but they have no information about what happens if you can't go the day of.

I would HOPE that the ticket remains valid and you can simply choose another reservation day, but Disney has said nothing about that possibility.

For WDW reservations. If you don't cancel, nothing happens. Someone loses the opportunity to get into the gates is what happens and not a good mouse citizen if you don't cancel. :( Kind of like a fastpass opportunity wasted if not canceled.

Thanks for the replies. I would hope the ticket would still be valid on another date. I'm always a good mouse citizen and cancel when necessary. :)

I think the only way I would even consider the "buy third-party, skip the line" idea would be if we saw in the morning that Disney put tickets and reservations in separate queues, and the reservation queue was short. (That, or if they didn't put a queue on reservations at all.)

But I'm really skeptical that they'll do that. Based on what happened on Monday, I fully expect them to put the entire process behind one queue. (Early in the morning on Monday, it felt like they had put all of MyDisneyland behind a single queue - the first person who found the queue got there by clicking on Link Tickets, not the actual Park Reservation link.)

do you know if you have to assign names to the tickets on the day you reserve them. My guess is yes. My kids want to bring friends on one of the days this summer, they just don't know which friend yet. So it would be awesome to be able to buy them reserve and decide who the ticket goes to later. But I bet I won't have such luck. The bring a friend is a birthday gift to both of the kids who have spring/summer birthdays.

I can’t imagine that you do. Are you envisioning them checking kids’ IDs to match names on a reservation? Pretty sure there’s zero way that’s happening...

My tickets were assigned to each of us, kids included. So my party for the park reservations have our individual names on that and each name has an individual QR code. That said, as long as the ticket and the reservation match, I'm not sure how they'd verify the person (a minor) matches that name, if that makes sense?
