I'm taking my Mom to Disney for her very first visit and am trying to decide if I should do 2 parks or just one, the one being DL. One of the only reasons I would go into DCA is for the WOC show.

If you had only one day to be in DL/DCA, which would you vote for? :confused3

Prior to June 15th, DL. After June 15th, toin coss.

That said, WOC is, by large margins, a vastly better experience than soundsational. Is it worth basing a decision on a single park? Not sure.

Agree. But with that said, will your Mom be able to handle standing for a length of time for WOC? That might factor in it as well.

I loved WOC when I saw it. I cried, it moved me that much.

A one day visit? That is tough. Will you be there before or after June 15th, the grand re-opening?

I personally think WOC is lots better than the parade, but you do have to devote some time to see it, unlike the parade which is a minimal investment. I guess it depends on your itinerary for the day. You will need to make time to hop to DCA in the morning to grab WOC FPs for your party or purchase a picnic or dinner later in the day. You will then need to determine how important a good spot is to you, and line up accordingly.

No chance of two days at least?

It would be a huge missed opportunity to only see one park. It's a mistake to only come for a day if that is your situation.

WOC requires a long time commitment and even then it can be a challenge to get a good viewing spot. SoundSational does not. I would suggest not trying WOC on a day trip unless you are a semi-regular visitor. Then it might be worth it.

If at all possible I would try to park hop. I love DL and would not want to miss that if I only had one day, but, I would not want to miss a few key attractions at DCA, such as Soarin'. Maybe you can pick a few attractions at each park to do that look interesting to everyone and go from there. One day is hard, but I think it's worth it to try to work in at least a little at each park.

Wow its truly amazing how far DCA has come! If this question was asked just a few years ago, everyone wouldve said DL without hesitation if they had to only choose one day. Now people really are torn, especially after June 15th.

Me personnally, I will say if you ONLY want to do WOC and no other interest in DCA, then I would just rule it out and stay at DL! It seems like a lot of extra money for just that one show and like others said you will spend time just waiting for it. Soundsational on the other hand its easier to just grab a spot somewhere 20 mins before show time and watch it. And if its her first visit, DL will definitely be a much better place to spend her time! I mean you still got both Fantasmic AND the fireworks to look forward to as well! If she hasnt done any of those, trust me it will make up for it big time!

Dont get me wrong, WOC is great, but I wouldnt pay only to see it. And we live in the youtube era, just watch it there lol. OR can always try and go another year and make DCA your full day park!

Thanks everyone, for the great advice! :flower3:

Fantasmic and fireworks are a no-go when we will be there :( but there will be lots of other wonderful things to make my Mom's trip magical! Due to her travel schedule, we only have the one day; I wish we had more, but that's just how it is this trip. Soooo, I've pretty much decided to stick to DL for the day. It will be a bit less rushed and I won't have to worry about not getting everything in for both parks before doing the dreaded 90min wait for WOC - we will save that for another time.

Probably for the best, I hope you have a good time! :goodvibes

I think you took the right decision!

Even though WOC is a great show, what would be a Disneyland vacation (even if it's a one day vacation) without a visit to Disneyland Park! Anyway, in my opinion, more magic at Disneyland!

Have fun and enjoy the park!
