Hi, all. I'm new to the DL forum as I've only been to WDW (11 times, but who's counting?). I'm seriously thinking of going to DL for our spring break in mid-March. Airfare looks much better to LAX than to Orlando right now.

The Portofino Inn & Suites looks nice on the web, but has anyone stayed there? How was it? Are you really close enough to walk?

Also -- how is the dining plan for DL?

Yep - DL newbie. I know nothing. Please enlighten me. :)

We stayed at the Portofino about 6 years ago (gosh, it doesn't seem like it's been that long!!). We had a nice stay. It is within walking distance but it was a longer walk (esp. at night) than other hotel locations. That is why we did not stay there again (decided to stay closer). I think we had a Kids Suite but it seems like the extra room had a queen bed instead of bunk beds in it. There was only 1 bathroom though. This next trip we are staying at the BW Park Place Inn, which is literally right across the street.

I don't know anything about the DL Dining Plan. While it would be nice to have all the meals figured out, I find that after a few days, I get tired of greasy Disney food. There is an outdoor mall called the Garden Walk that is a mile or so down the road that has lots of restaurant choices with popular names (CA Pizza Kitchen, PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory, etc)

I just registered so I could come and ask a question about the Portofino Inn! We want a place to stay with a separate room for the kids and we're going in early March, so things are a bit booked up already. If Portofino isn't the answer, does anyone have another suggestion for a place with a suite?
