Hi All,

We have plans to go to DL the end of this month but we are seriously thinking of changing and going to WDW instead. We went to WDW last year and had a good time, but with the hurricanes, we had to cut the vacation short. My DH and I go to DL almost every year and he just does not want to go this year.
If we decide to go to WDW what will we be missing if anything? Or are things at both parks about the same??

Thanks in advance!

Jamie

The two resorts do not have the same things for the celbration, but both are celebrating.

Disneyland has the Remember fireworks show - which is AWESOME!! The Parade of Dreams, the 50 Years of Magic display & show in the Opera House. DCA has the Block Party Bash Parade.

WDW - as Cinderellabration & Stunt Show (at the Studios) plus I am sure other things but I don't keep up with WDW much.

For me for the 50th I would go to Disneyland, just because it is Disneyland Birthday. If you just want to go to a Disney Park, since you have been to DL a lot, I would go to WDW (for something different).

I was going to suggest the same thing as disneychrista -- it's Disneyland's 50th birthday, so go there! I know the other Disney parks are having celebrations too, but this is an especially special year for the original. :) But if your DH really doesn't want to go back, go to WDW. Either way, you'll have fun.

I would say WDW probably any other year, but its Disneyland's birthday! The fireworks show, Remember... Dreams Come True is alone worth the price of admission.

Thanks everyone for the replies. This really has been a tough decision. We are suppose to leave in 20 days for DL and DH just does not really want to go. I am not really sure why.....he loves Disney. He just is not excited about DL this year. However he is excited about WDW......don't really get it!

I am sure that we are going to be making a decision sometime today, as our quote for our airfare and the WDW package both expire today.

Thanks again.

The 50th will be going on next year at this time too right???? So if we decide to go to WDW we still have next year to go to DL right?

Thanks!

Jamie

the 50th celebration goes on for 18 months so you can see it next year as well :)

Possibly your DH feels he didn't get to experience WDW like you should've due to the hurricane. That may be why he's so eager to go back. As DL's celebration does continue for 18 months, WDW might be the way to go this year, so you can "finish" up from last year and see what's new this time.
Either way, you'll be going to a Disney park, so you can't lose.

Well, I've been lucky enough to visit both DL and WDW this year (it was my first visit to WDW), and I'd say that it's a toss-up. There's special things at both places. DL holds the special place in my heart, but I enjoyed everything at WDW just the same. They're both decorated (just take a look at the castles!), both have special merchandise and special shows and events. (BTW - My in-laws said the stunt show was spectacular!) But I agree, since the celebration at DL will be 18 months long, you won't be missing the shows, decorations, etc., if you wait until next year.

IMHO, you can't loose either way. You'll be spending time with Mickey! Can I sneak inside your suitcase??? HUH? :goodvibes
