I need help with a question. We did DL at Christmas time a few years ago. We found Christmas Eve to be practically empty. (The following days were jam packed nightmare-will never do Christmas day again. :headache: ) My question is this - was it a fluke that Christmas Eve was light or is this typical for Christmas Eve? Thanks to all who are willing to share their insight.

Christmas Eve is typically light at the Disneyland Resort. Many people tend to want to spend time at home with their families that evening.

In addition, it has been a tradition for qutie some time for Theme Park Hours to be shortened on that day, in order that Cast Members may go home and spend time with their families as well. It's quite helpful IMO since the period that starts with Boxing Day (26 December) until about 2 January is quite possibly the busiest time of the year and many Cast Members are scheduled 6 and 7 days as well as Overtime and Doubletime during that period.

One of my favourite things about Christmas Eve is the meet and wave at the Main Street USA Train Station at Park Closing. Disneyland Resort Cast Members join with everyone's favourite Disney Pals to wave goodbye to our Guests as they exit the park and wish them a Merry Christmas.
