Hello

This is my first post, so hopefully I do this right! My wife and I are WDW vets, but neither of us has been to Disneyland since the early 90s. We have recently moved to CA and are planning our girls--ages 4 & 5--first trip to Disneyland! :cool1: We are thinking of going for 5 days and are thinking of staying at the DLH. We need help with planning since we want to visit when there are low crowds (probably an oxymoron I know :rotfl:) We were thinking the last week in September (arriving on 9/26) or the week prior to Thanksgiving week (arriving on 11/14). We are leaning towards Sept. so that the kids can go swimming, but we are open to ideas. Low crowds are our priority because waiting in line for rides with a 4 & 5 year old isn't my idea of fun :) Any input would be great! Thanks so much!

Welcome!!!

I really love both the Halloween season and the Christmas season at DLR. If you choose the September dates you are leaning towards, the Halloweentime season at DLR will have just begun so you will get the benefit of that. The crowds will not be too bad until October kicks in. The official holiday/Christmas season will begin on 11/20, but many of the holiday decorations will be up by that November date. September will probably be a slightly cheaper time at the hotel.

Check out this other thread that was started today: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2211253. I posted a lot of helpful links you may be able to use, such as HydroGuy's tips, etc. And in the Trip Report links I posted, check out Bumbershoot's new trip report which includes pictures from her recent stay at the Disneyland Hotel.

I see that you want to stay onsite. FYI, Disneyland/California Adventure have many good neighbor hotels that are within walking distance. I know that is not the case at WDW.

I also think that Sept 26th is the last day you can start a stay if you want to get the 5 nights for the price of 3 special at the Disneyland hotel. I'm gonna be there 09-25 to 10-01

Oh and thank you Sherry, for answering my question unintentionally. I was wondering what crowds would be like that weekend
