DL newbie! Help deciding between 2 weeks in Nov?

Hi, all! We are WDW vets planning our first DL trip for this November. I have read HydroGuy's incredibly helpful posts and guides, and have been doing a ton of research here on the boards. We have our trip narrowed down to two weeks (will likely only visit M-F either week, with a 5-day hopper)... we're having trouble deciding between:

November 4-11
Possible negatives: Dapper Day; overlaps slightly at end with Superhero race weekend. Some rides closed in advance of holiday season, it seems?

November 11-18
Possible negatives: Overlaps slightly at beginning with Superhero race weekend. Worried about it being overly crowded since holiday season will be in full swing.

With the second option, I'd also be a bit bummed about missing regular WOC in favor of the holiday WOC. I dunno why, I've just always really been looking forward to it.

Which would you choose? Any pros/cons I'm forgetting? Should I even consider Oct 28-Nov 4, given (what I'm assuming is) a Halloween influx of people?

If you are going M-F, dapper day will not be a problem. That weekend of the 10th, as it will be Veterans Day, race weekend, and possibly the opening of holiday season, will be very...not good. We purposely did not go that week/weekend last year, and once I saw pics of entry gates of that weekend I was glad we chose otherwise. You couldn't even tell which lines were to DL and which were to DCA because the esplanade was full of people who were all in some sort of line even at 12pm. That said, M-Th of that week might be ok. IASW and Jungle Cruise will be closed for holiday stuff.

for 11-18, the weekend of the 11th MAY be the opening of holiday season, it may not be. If it's not, IASW and Jungle Cruise will likely still be closed (for at least part of that week.)

Really the weekends will be the worst part. M-Th of either week won't be too bad, and how bad 11-18 is depends on if holiday season has opened. Veterans Day Friday will be awful. The Monday after the race will be pretty busy but not like Veterans Day.

You might also check BlizzCon and when that will be - doesn't make a huge difference in the parks but offsite hotels will be slammed.

As for week of Halloween - we have gone the days after Halloween and it's been pretty good. SM is closed 2 days after, but reopens the 3rd. Haven't actually been on Halloween. I know days prior to Halloween are generally very busy.

Sorry that may not be a lot of help...a lot depends on how important holiday stuff is to you and if you want to gamble based on when it might start. 4-11 will probably be slightly less crowded overall except for that veterans day Friday, if I had to guess.

The Super Heroes Half Marathon events begin starting on Thursday (11/9) and run through Sunday (11/12). I would expect to see relatively large crowds in the parks and in DTD that weekend; there will also be some road closures during the race times, so keep those in mind if you have to drive to the parks. Last year (2016), the holiday season official started on Nov 10 (Thu), which coincided with Veteran's Day weekend and the Super Heroes Marathon. Things can change without notice and without any obvious reason why, but until we know more, I'd go with the assumption that it'll start around the same time in 2017.

I agree with the PP in that it really depends on what are the priorities for you? Low(er) crowds? Attractions? Holiday decor?

Personally, I would go with the latter week. I really like the holiday offerings, so I would go when there is the best chance of seeing all of the holiday activities, decor, and entertainment.
