WDW veteran here heading to DL/DCA in June for a few days. Can anyone tell me how the weather is? Anything I need to know for going at that time? It will be our first time at DL/DCA!!

When in June?

Weather wise, June is usually great! Not too hot yet, and typically cloudy and cool in the mornings and evenings due to the marine layer ("June gloom"). Highs are usually around 80. Lows on the mid 60s.

The parks DO get impacted by Grad Nites (usually Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays through mid June). Those are annoying. If you are going after June 20 or so, you won't have to deal with them.

Crowds can be very large at this point, though. The annual passholders who will be blocked out for the summer cram in for their last visits for a few months, last year there was a CA resident special ticket offer that brought more locals than usual, and the aforementioned Grad Nites bring busloads of teens who get to spend all day at the parks in addition to their special evening private party. So, it can be a lot of people.

However, park hours are long and by this time, the full summer entertainment and nightly fireworks are in effect, so there is at least that.

The weather can really vary. When we went in late June, the weather was terrible and had a big impact on our trip. Instead of our usual 2 hour afternoon breaks we ended up taking more like 5 hour breaks, the heat was so bad. We missed out on park time/rides due to the heat. The evenings were ok and we stayed until closing most nights. I forget exactly what the temperature was, but I know it was in the 90s most of our days and some high 80s.

It was super crowded but we still managed to get alot done using Genie+, staying late and rope drop.

As PP mentioned, Grad Nites are in June so you'll want to avoid those if you can.

If you want to take them into consideration, Grad Night dates for 2023 are as follows:
May 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, 24, 25, 30 & 31, 2023
June 2, 4, 7, 9, 14 & 16, 2023

Days of the week seem to be a bit all over the place for May but Wed, Fri, Sun for the first half of June. Grad Nights take place at DCA as a private party starting at 9pm. However, depending on their school's ticket offering, grads may be able to access DCA or both parks for the whole day (options are private party only, private party + same day DCA access, private party + same day park hopper ticket). There are lots of past threads on here about Grad Nights and their impact on the parks with mixed opinions on how significant that impact is.

Thank you so much for these dates!! I never thought about Grad Nights. We will make sure to not be there until after the 16th.

It can be deceptively hot in June as the cool weather in the mornings can give you a false hope that the rest of the day will remain the same. We've gone 3 times now in June and always build in an afternoon break to go back and swim/relax. We then return around 5 when the weather gets more pleasant. 12-5 can be pretty warm. 1000X better than WDW though.

If you're a WDW vet, don't worry about DL weather. June can be warm, but it's nothing compared to May-Oct in Florida. Not even close.

We went in late June this year and it was hot! We took breaks at the hotel every afternoon. And I ended up using a little umbrella for shade some of the time while walking around.
