Hi All,

I've never been to DL at all. We'll be making a small trip either the 2nd or 3rd week of August. That being said, how bad are the crowds this time of year? I'm expecting it to be busy, but is it simply insane?

What about the heat and humidity? How hot is S. Cali this time of year?

Are there any major events going on either of these weeks which we should be aware of?

We do mid Aug every year and it is usually is very warm to hot. I will be very busy but doable if you plan. The relative humidity is high in the AM and virtually non exsistant during the rest of the day. It will start colling down in the early evening. I know of no events going on, but I do not check either. You may find that many hotel are booked.

Have a great trip,

Jack

Socal APs become unblocked this month so that will make crowds go up, but I can't remember which week that starts. I think third or fourth week, but you can check the AP blockout days online at the Disneyland site. I've never known California to be humid, at least not compared to back east. I've been checking the weather for this week and it looks cooler than usual- high 70s. We've been having a cool summer up in Norcal too, about 15 or 20 degrees below normal.

I find that when you plan your days at DLR, it is really an enjoyable experience despite crowds. I have noticed that mornings are key. The crowds are low and you can get in a lot of rides without major wait times. Also, use this time to accumulate FP's for the major rides. It amazes me how many people do not even know fast passes exist??:confused3 I have always gone in the Summer and have yet to wait more than 20 min. for a ride, and that one time I waited 20 min, was at haunted mansion and there was an issue with a handicapped person boarding. We dont like to spend our time waiting in lines!!:cool1: An afternoon break at the hotel is a must for us. We leave the hottest part of the day and return when the temps are cooler for the evenings. Evenings are more crowded, but hey, at least you are no longer hot and cranky!!:confused3 I love the Summer trips because it feels like everything is available at the parks!! yay!!

I agree. Get there at park opening, to do several rides early.

Pick up fast passes to use or save for later in the day too.

Rest in your room or hop over to California Adventure in the busier times of the day.

You can do a lot at Disneyland in California with fast passes and park hopping.

I do at Disneyland in 1 day what I do in 7 days at Disneyland Paris.
