DL in a day??

I am a bit confused about the fast passes, believe it or not! in and so far as I had been under the complete thought that you can only use them during the returns times, and not beyond, however I have read a number of posts on this site, stating to get them in the morning and use them in the evening. Can some one please clarify this for me?

The unwritten rule at DLR is that FPs collected in a given day can be used from the start of "the window" until the end of THAT day.

Many here (including me) believe the most effective method of touring (especially on weekends or any other busy day) is to collect 3-5 FPs at DL early (while you're blissfully touring DL during the early morning low crowd period)....possibly hop to DCA for late morning early afternoon touring & bring the DL FPs back (to DL) for evening touring when it's possibly more crowded.

Thanks for the post OP!! We also will have 1 day at DL!! And it is a Saturday. We may have some time the Friday before, depending on what time we get down to Anaheim...but I think we will just stick to DL. It is our first time. We do plan on coming back, since one of our older DS's lives about 1 1/2 hours from DL!!

The price difference for the park hopper is so cheap that if you only have 1 day, while Disneyland is truly the star of the resort, it would be a shame to miss the Electrical Parade, the Animation Academy, Soaring, and the new Toy Story Mania at DCA.

I say get the park hopper, pick your highlights, be a whirlwind crazy tourist, and go home exhausted with memories of a fun day!
