We are thinking about staying at the DL hotel this trip, but I don't like the idea of being so far away from everything in the rear towers. I know the Sierra Tower is the closest one. Is is more expensive to stay there? What is the name of the tower to the right of Sierra (if you were standing facing the pool in front of the Sierra it is to your right).

Can you request a tower when you book and if so, do they guarantee your request?

Thanks! :D

You can request a tower, but as with all things Disney it is not guaranteed. :)

The tower to the right is the Marina tower, and that is also very close to Downtown Disney. Even the Bonita tower really is not that far of a walk. The Sierra tower is the closest, though, and that's also where the majority of the concierge rooms are.

You can always hop on the Downtown Disney monorail to get into DL (that line is oftern shorter than the gate lines at the park itself).

The DL Hotel is great, enjoy your trip! :)

I have stayed in Marina and Bonita Towers, and the distance is not a major concern at all. The view is the only difference, to me. Maybe 50 yards more walking? Not a big deal. The pool/green view in Marina and Bonita Tower is wonderful, the parking lot view is.. well.. cheaper. If you REALLY want to be close, stay at the Grand Californian. That is a significantly different distance.
