New here, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out. FH and I are considering DL for our honeymoon. Neither of us has been there. We were originally thinking of WDW, but as my dad's side of the family is from CA, DL seems more special to me.

We are thinking of three days at the park, and then three days in San Diego.

I know that WDW has all sorts of honeymmon perks like the hats and/or pins, all sorts of packages, that special treatment, and I'm wondering if DL does this same kind of thing.

I've also read rave reviews of the Candy Cane Inn (is that what it's called?) We're not looking for some big extravagent hotel, but do think that this hotel is romantic enough? Do you think they would do any special touches for us?

thanks so much for any information...I've been lurking here for quite some time, and you guys all seem really great.

Congratulations Merbear! Unfortunately, I don't have many tips for Honeymooners (Hey, I'm only 21, eh? I don't worry about that yet. :):p hehe), but I did want to offer you my best wishes.

What I can tell you is buy some bride and groom "ears" and you'll be wished congrats all over the park (and most likely be comped some free deserts...hehe).

However, I do know that many travel companies offer Honeymoon specials such as http://www.disneytravelstore.com/honeymoons.htm

Maybe folks will post their top pics for romantic DL/San Diego Spots.
For me and my boyfriend of 4 years, they are:
Lunch at the Blue Bayou.
Dinner at the Jazz Kitchen or Catal on the top level
A quiet lunch at the lower level of the Hungry bear feeding ducks parts of our hamburger buns :)
Sitting Quietly at the back road around the Harbor Galley, and ending in front of Splash Mountain.
An evening tour around on the railroad
Much more. ;)

You could also call the Fairy Tale Weddings office, to get info on anything that they offer. (I know that they do offer Fairy Tale Honeymoon perks, but it isn't at the level of WDW yet, so it isn't heavily advertised.)

Have a great time,
And again - CONGRATS!

Hey Howdy,

Can't give you any specifics about anythig special at DL for honeymooners. However, I'm sure some magic will be created if you wear your ears.

As far as candy cane inn, I think a lot of it depends on which room you get. Some of the rooms are better than others.

If you really want magic I recommend staying Concierge at any of the three Disney Hotels.

Congrats!!
now thats said, check out this site ( Disney travel store .com)
sorry, would have put in a link, But I am PC Illiterate, LOL
this site has a great package, I would also call the Hotel reservations or Disney club and see if they offer the same package and comp them.
here is another idea, make your reservations for a regular room, and then go on about its going to be your HM and its your fiances first time to DL and maybe you will get some perks thrown in, there is no gaurentee on this one it has worked for me on several accasions, the last time they surprised us with a comp up to concierge, and when we got to our room it was full of nice surprises( roses, balloon bouquet, autograghed pic if the characters, That night we came back to mickey shaped rice crispy treats. nothing spectacular, but nice surprises for our anniversary and it was all free!

good luck and a wish for a long and happy life togather!

When I got married, we did the exact same thing. Went to DL for three days and then onto San Diego for three days. We stayed at the Candy Cane (and have stayed there several more times) and got one of their larger rooms. It is very nice and would highly recommend it. Their continental breakfast is very nice and a way to save a little extra cash. In San Diego, we ate at old town (great mexican food and margaritas the size of fishbowls) and went to visit Coronodo. The hotel there is beautiful and so is the beach. We also went to the gaslight district and to SeaPort Village.

The best of luck to you
