I'm going to DL this Friday and will be purchasing AP's. We will goto the parks Friday through Monday. What days can we expect it to hit capacity?? If it does hit capacity when will they stop letting AP holders in???

It won't happen this weekend. That only happens on days like New Year's Eve.

But, AP's don't have "priority" entrance when the park does reach capacity. I believe in that instance, only DLR hotel guests have guaranteed entry.

Saturday will be the busiest day, but since it's November, and not yet "holiday season at DLR", it should be a rather slow weekend.

I remember reading that Veteran's Day has hit capacity before...but that might just be Monday.

As for priority and such, I don't really know, except that if it's totally full, fire marshall full, then it doesn't matter who you are, they can't let people in until other people come out.

That's what i read at least. :)

I've never been to DLR on Veteran's Day, or on a day when it reaches it's capacity, but from my understanding, they stop allowing certain guests on a group to group basis. I did a google search and found this.

My personal opinion is that while it might get busy, I don't think it'll reach the capacity, so no worries. :hippie:

My bad. I forgot it was Vet's Day weekend. I was planning on going this Sunday, since I'm sure it will be a madhouse Saturday and Monday. Maybe I'll reconsider...

And yes, if the park has reached FULL capacity, they won't let people in until people come out.

Food for thought...I don't know about Monday being a madhouse this year. According to DL's calendar, there are no parades, nor any fireworks, scheduled for that day....just Fantasmic twice. And the park hours are from 8 - 10, so I don't think DL itself expects the crowds to be that bad this year.

Pushing the holiday festivities to the following weekend just might make the parks more managable this Veteran's Day Weekend....at least that's what I keep telling myself. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

hahahahaha... seriously though, i doubt we will see the park hitting capacity for awhile... im not even except it to hit that high on Vet's day... Maybe New Years Eve and Christmas... that is the only day i can guess that will hit max...

Thanks everyone! I was really worried about DL being over crowded. It didn't occur to me when I booked my trip that it was a holiday weekend. I saw lots of posts on other boards saying that it would be really busy (hitting capacity busy) and this makes me feel alot better. I can handle crowds I just don't want to be locked out of DL.:sad1:

fyi, this year alone, Disneyland hasnt hit peak guest yet... so you should be fine if you get there before 12AM.

I was just worried because everyone was saying that it would be a madhouse this weekend. I have been to DL on new years day and it wasn't that bad so i'm hoping it will be nothing compared to that. Even if it is crowded, it's DL so i'll get over it.

We went a few times on the day after Christmas. What a mistake! One time, it was me, my sister, my 2 kids, and my neice. My neice (6yo at the time) had an AP, but the rest of us just had 3 day park hopper passes.

The park was so crowded that they would not let any AP holders in -- only guests with already-purchased day passes. I went to the guest information-type place and pleaded my case that they couldn't let me, my sis, and my 2 kids in and not my 6yo neice!!!!! They agreed and made an exception that she could come in since she was with us. But their policy was no AP holders.

Of course, they will always let you in to DCA! I remember the sign in the parking structure that said "Disneyland at capacity -- closed to new arrivals" but we still tried anyway.

This year we are going a few days BEFORE Christmas!

We were there last year over Veteran's Day weekend. Friday was the official holiday and DL got to capacity. I don't know which level as we didn't even try to leave the park once we were in. In fact, we didn't leave the park Saturday because we were afraid we would not be let back in. The crowds are doable in the morning, but by mid afternoon it was shoulder to shoulder at the hub. BTW, they were filming DL's portion of the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade show that weekend as well.
