DL & Halloween Questions

I have a few questions.

We’re going to DL for the first time in October. We arrive on the 29th. So, my only option for MNSSHP is Halloween night. It seems from the website that the tickets go on sale July 1st. Does anybody know what time?

How quickly does it usually sell out?

I’m guessing no, but can’t hurt to ask, is the a DVC presale for that date?

If I’m not able to get tickets, are there any other Halloween activities?

DH and I are really excited about the trip. We’re trying to keep it a surprise from DD7 until her birthday in September!

First of all, check out the first 2 posts on Page 1 of the Halloween at DLR Superthread - they are chock full of all kinds of links and information that will give you a great idea of what else there is to look forward to at DLR during HalloweenTime, including treats, merchandise, the Halloween Party, events, ride overlays, etc.

You don't need to read the whole thread, of course - but those first 2 posts on the first page will be an excellent starting point, and then feel free to jump into that thread and join us. I will be posting any breaking news on the season in the first post as it comes in!

I'm not sure at what time the tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 1 - probably early, though. As far as I know, DVC members have already been able to pre-purchase their Halloweeen Party tickets on the general DLR ticket line - 714-781-4400. At least, that's how it worked last year and I was just told by a Cast Member one minute ago that DVC members, AP holders and Disney Visa Card members can all call that phone number now and get advance tickets - with a discount (though maybe no discount for the party on Halloween itself?)!

Because you'd be going on Halloween night, that party will probably sell out relatively early on. You should get those tickets as soon as you can, just in case. They won't sell out immediately, but the actual Halloween night Mickey's Halloween Party (MHP) will be very popular!

We went to the Halloween party back in 2008 and some of the weekend dates did sell out pretty quickly. We ended up going on a weekday evening.

The party itself was fun. The kids loved dressing up, and there were tons of candy stations for the older kids which IMO I could have done without LOL. The characters were out in full force and in costume too. We would definitely do Halloween time again. All of DL and DCA is totally decorated up for the events.

You're welcome! Woo hoo! A Halloween night party should be really fun! Eventually I want to do the party on Halloween just to see if it has a different vibe than the other nights of the party. This year I won't be able to do that - I will have to go earlier in October - but one of these years I will go on the actual holiday.

We did the 30th in 2009 and had a blast. This year we are going to MNSSHP in WDW for their first party!! Sooooo excited. Since we are getting DLR APs again next year I'm hoping for a Halloween party in DLR in 2012. My only hold up will be if I can tag along for DHs business trip to Orlando in October 2012....ooooh maybe bi-costal Halloween parties for 2012???? Wheels are turning....
