Has anybody heard anything more about fastpass return times beginning enforced at DL starting June 15th. I know they are doing this at DW. It was posted on a forum coming from a conversation a member had with a TOT CM....can anyone at DL get the scoop on this?

I would be rather surprised if it instantly started June 15. At WDW, didn't they have a week or two when they would remind you that they wouldn't accept late FPs, and then they implemented it? And maybe I missed them but I didn't see any threads of people saying they were warned lately.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised at all if RSR enforced the return times--didn't Star Tours at least sometimes enforce it when they first re-opened?

I know I am going to get flamed for this but I have to say it. I sure hope they do start enforcing times. I am sorry it's not like it doesn't say when to come back. If you can't make it back because of eating it a show/parade you want to see then you shouldn't be getting one. Now I know people will say, are you saying you never came late? I have and I will admit it but not because of reasons mentioned above. I have been late to to rides breaking, bathroom attacks (I know TMI), Ect.

I agree. We always have come back during our time slot... Isn't that the point? We plan around it.

Since we have heard nothing official from Disney, I think these are just rumors. Prior to WDW enforcement, there were many announcements, media coverage, and signage at the parks. It is well known that individual CMs may deny late FPs at DL (although they are few and far between). There were reports of late FPs being denied at Star Tours when it first re-opened last summer. I was there 3 times over the summer and used late FP in May (during soft opening), July, and Labor Day weekend. Never once was I refused entry due to late FP usage.

And I really don't think we should let one poster on another board whose first post was a rumor about FPs to get us all worked up about it. There are lots of credible sources for Disneyland news, but an anonymous poster is not that source. :rotfl:

Uh, yeah! I had no idea they were lenient as I always come back in time or don't at all so them enforcing it certainly won't affect me!

I was the one who wrote here about the poster on another site being told that by a TOT CM they will start intiating strict FP return times on June 15th! But no, there has not been a single word of it since. And to be fair to that poster, he was asking if others were told the same thing and wanted to find out how valid it was. But two weeks later and there doesnt seem to be a peep about it! And considering all the people who has gone to the park since and has not mentioned it yet, then my feeling is its not happening...at least not right away!

And WDW yeah there was tons of announcements and warnings about it. Even news media covered it, which I thought was bizarre, but it tells you how much they wanted to get the word out. I think considering its less than a week away and there has not been any OFFICIAL word anywhere probably tells you it will still be status quo for awhile.

I used a couple of late FPs today with no unusual comments from the CMs, somthere's no indication I could see of such a policy being imminent.

No flames here, I agree with you 100%

I have no problem with them enforcing this either - we almost always make our time slot. My only thought is that I would need to plan for it... one of our 'tricks' is always to grab a fast past to our favorite ride before leaving the park for an afternoon break, then use it when we return at night. The first time we did that we actually asked the CM and she said "no problem, just use it some time today and you'll be fine." Sort of like the pirate code... the return times were more like "guidelines." pirate:

If it works better for everyone to enforce the hour then it makes sense to me.

eh - we're long-time breakers of the FP return time rule. We rarely use our fastpass within the allotted time frame. I'm sure we could follow the rules if they started enforcing this. Funny - we're big rule-followers on just about everything, but FP return time isn't one of them.

Non-enforcement of return times for FPs multiplies the advantage of arriving at opening.

We can not only ride 8-10 of the top rides in the first 2 hours, but also stuff our pockets with 4 or 5 sets of FastPasses for those top rides, to be used later in the day.

If we consider this a good thing, such as Disney wanting us lined up for rope drop at opening rather than crowds slowly building throughout the morning, then I suspect they will continue to ignore return times of the FP.

Or, perhaps they like the "insiders" stealing rides from the casual visitors to be a good thing. This may make the casual visitors have to spend more days in the parks.

If it is deemed that those "in the know" and able to be at park opening stealing rides from others as a bad thing, then they should probably start enforcing return times.

It really doesn't matter...if they enforce the return times then some of us will need to reevaluate our plans of attack....;) If they continue to allow those in the know to return anytime on the same day then we will continue getting early start at rope drop, riding and collecting FPs early in the day and then returning in the late afternoon to use those FPs.:)
There are so many people that don't even use FPs because they don't understand what they are, think you have to pay extra for them, think they are too much trouble, or think they have to return in the printed window time, then that leaves more FPs for us that do understand them and know how to use them.:scared1:

I think Disney should continue with the lax enforcement of FP return windows only for those wearing Mickey ears. All others have to adhere to the window.

:rolleyes1

We are going to be there in July for the new carsland I really am HOPING they DO NOT start enforcing. With 2 small kids (DS 4, DD 5) we do our best to go as fast as we can. Being able to use the fast passes later on at night or during a nap has allowed my DH and I to do the bigger rides and have our disney moment too.

Also we ALWAYs share the magic and give our FP away to other families/couples/singles when we do not use them. This was actually paid forward to us at WDW when someone gave us FP for Toy Story when there were none left and a 90 wait.

So just my opinion....I appreciate the FP and with the crowds this summer I want the extra option.

We were there the 1st-4th and there was no mention of it and we used late FP's many times.

I think if DL is ever going to enforce the FP return time, they are going to have to get their ride closure issue fixed. I can't tell you how many times we either went to get or use a FP at a ride and the ride was closed. Space, Indy, and TM seemed to be closed more than open while we were there.

Most of the time I use my fastpass within the time period. But I do admit I have used it outside of the time as well. I don't plan around them and sometimes forget I have them completely which is why I sometimes use them after the time period. I don't see it coming to DL anytime soon, due to the fact that it doesn't affect much there. Most people at the park use them in the time period. It's not a huge issue there

This is my thought as well. We spent most of one of our park days in CA and it seemed like everything was closed. Many times we walked over to a ride to use our passes only to find the ride closed. Screamin', Grizzly River Run, Goofy's Sky School, Golden Zeypher we all down for significant parts of the day.

LittleToni: "If you're the FP police where are your badges?"

CM: "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"
