Hello! I do think the start of school has pickled my brain and I fear I've asked this before, so please forgive me if I have.

I am just wondering if any of you have had experience bringing a physically disabled child to Disneyland? We are going in Dec w/our twins who will be 9 - one of the boys ahs CP and uses a w/c for long distances. I've had some help with a few questions here and on the DL board but I wondered if there were a couple of people out there with experience who I could PM, rather than asking questions here that have limited applicability and are also about DL, not WDW.

There are a lot fewer people on the DL board than this one, and I do think they are people here in the know.

Thank you!

Twinmum - I've been to DL with my brother in a wheelchair several times. The only thing is that he's certainly not a child. Even though he may act like it. ;-) If you have any general accessability questions feel free to ask though!

I've brought my kids to DL several times, they aren't in w/c but they do have issues with their disabilities and stamina, getting hooked to their enteral machines, etc. I'd be happy to help if I can;) I do know several good quiet-time spots and where to take a break!popcorn::

Hello,

My son is Autistic, not physically disabled. We visited the DLR earlier this summer. I may not be able to answer any w/c specific questions, but I'd be happy to help where i can.

One good thing to know.....When you get the GAC (at the Town Hall on Main Street) they will provide you with a very helpful brochure that gives details on all rides, where/how to access, as well as other helpful info for people with disabilities. We found it extremely helpful...I wish WDW had a similar brochure.

As for crowds, we were there in the begining of August. Mornings were very quiet. As the afternoon progressed, the parks became crowded.

Not sure where you're thinking of staying, but we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. I mention this only becuase of the hotels proximity to the Monorail station. The station was a mere 3 minute walk from our room. You are able to scan your passes and go thru Security there with significantly (by a long shot !!) shorter lines. The Monorail goes from the DTD area to Tomorrow land. Both stations a w/c accessible.

DLR is a lot of fun. Smaller that WDW, but the rides are great. We enjoyed many of the rides that can be found in both parks, more at DLR !!!
