Hi guys, I will be booking a night of childcare so DH and I can get out alone for a bit. We've only done this once before and went out to eat at Napa Rose and drinks at Trader Joe's. It was great, but looking for something new. So far I can come up with is listening to jazz at Jazz Kitchen for dinner.

What other things could we do? Any shows you would recommend? We will be in parks dec 6-11.

thanks you so much-

Grab drinks at Carthay Lounge! The drinks are top notch and the atmosphere is something special- classy like, you feel like you're in a time machine and the jazzy versions of disney tunes played in the background brings it all together!

This sounds like fun to me.:-)

Thanks-I looked it up and that looks like a winner. Where do we go after?! I wonder how many places there are in CA we could get a drink, that could be a fun night.

We sat on the Sonoma Terrace and peopled watched for awhile and had a drink.

Maybe check out the Cove Bar over by Paradise Pier as well.

We also did the Alfresco Tasting Terrace last trip and it was really neat, very different from anything else we'd done. Apparently they've changed it from what it used to be a couple of years ago. We did a couple wine flights and honestly weren't impressed with the wine but the appetizers we enjoyed a lot and the view. Go after cars land lights up and from parts of the little terrace there you see Cars Land and the Tower of Terror from an elevated viewpoint. It was really quiet and I liked finding such a relaxing spot in the park. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disney-california-adventure/alfresco-tasting-terrace/
Edit: there were also heat lamps, so don't let cold deter you if interested

People rave about the Cove Bar. We haven't made it there yet but will one of these days!

who will you be using for child care? We don't stay onsite and I am wanting to do something like this next summer

Hi luulu-we are going to use Pinocchio's workshop at GCH. We've never stayed at that hotel and our kids are finally in that window of being acceptable (they only accept ages 5-12) so this would be the only time we could do it. Previously we used Fullerton Childcare and I can't find them online anymore. The owner was the main sitter (she was our sitter) and she was on the older side so she may have retired. There are a ton of recs on disboards and also micechat too, I'd look around there. Seems like there are plenty of good people to go with. I really recommend doing it, it made it pretty awesome for us. Kids had fun too and honestly one chill out night for the kids was a good thing. Goodluck!
