DL closing early Dec 12-13?

Anyone know why DL is closing at 6PM on Dec 12-13 (Mon-Tues) CA is staying open till 9PM. Thought it might be the Candlelight Processional but that is the week before. Any ideas? Thanks!

When they close early for cast parties... does that have an effect on the days crowd levels one way or the other?

I was so disappointed to see this. I will be there for 3 days, with Dec. 12 and 13 being my only full days. I'm sure that I'll still have a great time, but was hoping that DL would be open until midnight (or at least 10 PM!)

They choose the party dates in a comprimise to help guests and the Cast Members. For the CMs they make it as close to Xmas as possible, and at a time that doesn't effect the guests greatly.

This is why they are on weekday nights, low crowd day of a week, even though the Disney employees may have to work the next morning.

You can, as many guest will, go over to DCA since it will be open a few hours later. This will make DCA more crowded in the evening but they are medium crowd days to beging with.

I have not seen Disneyland open until Mid-night that early in December on a weekday. In fact it would likely have closed at 9pm those days if not for the cast parties and they are opening the park an hour earlier than "normal" to compensate.
