I am considering taking the family to DL at christmastime. I was noticing that the christmas activities will not end until January 8th. I know the week between xmas and new years is packed, but if we go the week AFTER new years day, say the 2nd to the 6th or so, should it be less crowded? We have 3 grandkids, all under 2 y/o, so I really wouldn't want to fight super huge crowds!! Thanks!

Last year we were there the 5th through the 9th, and did great. That included a weekend too. Our APs were not blocked that weekend and we got a great rate at the GCH, so that is why we went. IIRC, wait times were minimal and Small World still had the holiday overlay, so DD was beyond thrilled. The tree in our hotel lobby came down one night, that was cool to see it up and then POOF - it was gone!

It won't be super crowded like the week between Christmas and New Years will be. Because New Years Falls on Sunday the start of a week a lot of schools will have their Christmas break slide back, so it will be busy.

Last year in comparison New Years was on the end of the week, a Saturday, so the season only went a few days after it. Christmas breaks were shifted forward.
