DL and DCA possible to do in 2 days?

For Matterhorn, go in the line closest to Fantasyland. That line is always shorter in the morning than the Tomorrowland side line.

I recommend buying the Unofficial Guide book to Disneyland. It rates the rides based on intensity etc..etc.. I just would hate to think you are missing out on amazing ride experiences because an assumption they are a "thrill ride." It will break it down for you so you can assess what would please all in the group.

JMHO ... :goodvibes

Some "thrill" rides could be skipped without missing much, like Astro Orbitor, Maliboomer, and Mulholland Madness.

Star Tours and Calif. Screamin' might be a little rough :hippie: , but I really wouldn't want to miss Space Mtn, Splash Mtn, Indiana Jones, and the Matterhorn! :cheer2:

You'll want to avoid Twilight Zone ToT :scared1: as its drops :scared: are extremely rough :faint: , but ToT has a Chicken Exit popcorn::, so you can go inside the attraction and see the theming without having to experience any of the drops. ;)

HTH :goodvibes

Many of the rides mentioned we would probably do but we don't do big roller coasters. I can't stand the feeling you get going down the big drops and then whipping around corners. Also, there's no way any of us would do TOT. I am going to research all of the rides so that we don't exclude one's that we might have liked just because they are labeled "thrill ride".

What Hound said. . .

Plus, you might want to consider Ridemax. It will really help you get the most out of your time.

I never knew something like Ridemax exsisted. It's a brillant idea. Anyone use this and think it was worth it?

Yep! Used it and loved it for my first two family trips to DLR. :thumbsup2

After using it a couple times I found that I was able to pick up on the general park crowd rhythms and now I do my own personal DangerMax! ;)

I would definitely recommend it for a first timer though!

Yes, that's very possible without the thrill rides. I agree with getting there early to do Fantasyland, Buzz ect... You can catch POTC and the HM without much of a line later.

DCA won't take a whole day without the thrill rides. It's doable!

i just done two days in DL last month.

i done a lot of the things that i wanted to do - but i didn't get to do nemo (queues were too long) and the big thunder mountain - as fp wasn't wokring and the queue looked too long.

maybe an extra morning - just do to a few more things would have been kool.

2 days you shoudl get to do mos of the things that you wanted.

enjoy :)

I'll be in LA next March so am planning to add 2 days onto the trip to go to DLR. I'll be there solo. Can you pls let me know how many hours you were in the park? What you saw/rode? I want to get a gauge of how much I can see.

It will be my first trip really (I was there 15 years ago but don't remember any of it). I'm thinking of flying in on Thurs and checking out DTD. Then getting an early sleep to climatize (coming from east coast), then spending all Fri & Sat at the parks. Check out Sunday.

cheers,
:flower3:

Welcome to the left coast resort klam chowder. :hippie:

I mentioned this upthread, but....
Have you priced the difference between a 2 day & 3 day park hopper? Why not go into DL on Thurs?

& you'll get MM for Sat.

& you should follow DangerMouse's ride order strategy. (Unless Buzz has no line after picking up SM FPs....then hop onto Buzz....because you can. )

& you should park hop every day. (Starting each each day at DL EARLY....hopping to DCA.....taking a swim/rest break & then going back to the park(s) in the evening). This is SO much easier to do at DLR than at WDW.

& visit DTD before/during or after your mid day break.....or for a meal. (It's a 2 minute walk from the front gate of BOTH parks.

Have fun planning a visit to Walt's Park.

A few thoughts:

- Read all of HydroGuy's tip threads....most are essential reading, especially for the WDW vet.
- The time change is your friend. Plan on getting up EARLY Fri & Sat.
- Might want to start a new thread & you'll get alot of advice.
- If you know the dates, post them....March may equal Spring Break crowds. You'll need to Zig when others are Zagging.

Good Luck & Have Fun! :3dglasses

Do i have to order DANGERMAX for a year??....or does it have a 3 month trial version?

& is it true that it makes you stop every 20 minutes for a churro, dole whip or corn dog?

& why does it keep insisting that I join the Fox & the Bear on Splash??

signed,

Confused ;)
