Dj?

Has anyone used a non-Disney DJ? We are hoping to have the brunch/lunch reception at the California Grill. Disney's DJs are $1,500... which I'm not sure if that seems high or reasonable. Does anyone have experience with this? Is there an additional charge?

I think there's a $950 fee for using outside entertainment. The fee includes some sort of stage set up for the DJ. At least that's the idea I got from the info I was sent.

Yes, the fee to use outside entertainment is true. Disney usually has associated costs with a DJ, and of course, it is their preference that you use one of their "Disney Approved DJs." All of these DJs are experienced with the "Disney Way" of doing things, and the DJs have worked very closely with the Wedding Coordinators in the past, making it a smooth operation for all involved.

If you use an outside vendor, Disney still must set up a dance floor, lighting, etc, so that is how they recover their costs.

I used DJ Chuck...see above....and he was fabulous! I paid less than 1500 and it was worth every penny!
