any brides here done it? Thinking of saving some (...probably a lot) of money to try make our own wedding album for keepsake.

been searching online for leather albums but only came accross one site that seems to be user friendly is weddingdepot.com

like to know if anyone bought leather albums from good online stores.

in the meantime will be searching for local stores..

I love Snapfish.com books and I think that the ones on Shutterfly look even nicer but I have not had an opportunity to make one yet...I've been showing mine off and everyone thinks it is my professional one...I just haven't gotten my choices to Randy yet to have him do it!

I haven't gone through that company but just a heads up that some photographers may have a copyright on you making you own album, and some album companies might not make them if you're not a professional photographer. This being said, I have seen mac.com photobooks, shutterfly, and mypublisher and they all seem nice. I've made ones on Mac before and liked it.

Yeh Randy's album costs more than the package price itself so..that blew our budget by a lot...

I'm thinking more of buying the materials online for fraction of the price and make our own.

I haven't started it yet, but I've been scrapbooking for over 6 years, so I knew I'd make our album. I won a leather album at a Creative Memories event about 4 years ago and never had a use for it, so I'll be using that one for the wedding. Michael's and larger JoAnne fabric stores have some great scrapbook supplies. I also like scrapbook.com which carries books, papers, stickers, embellishments, just about anything you can imagine, including Disney. Target carries K&Co. items. K&Co. has some beautiful wedding papers and stickers. You can find a lot on e-bay too.

Good Luck! :goodvibes

thanks JanJ
guess we'll make some trips to scrapbook stores too. we like the look of professional leather albums but just not the professional price :teeth:

http://www.mypublisher.com/default.php

i used that site to make my moh's vegas wedding album. i took all the pictures myself & then used the site to make her wedding album. it turned out really nice for like $30 with a coupon.

with the package i got from randy i get 1 leather album & 60 pages of pictures.

Thanks twojo.
i'm using the basic package for like 600, the formal album price itself starts at near 650 I think.

*took a look at mypublisher, OMG why is it so cheap! that's some great stuff. great for parent albums.

Right--I should have mentioned that. Randy gives out of town couples full copyright to all their pics so I've had no problems with that:):) To me that alone was worth every penny of Randy's services!!!

Thought he gives everyone full copyrights?... but well...we're not in orlando anyways ;)
when we inquried with local studios to make standalone albums, they all seem surprised that we'll be getting copyrights to our pictures.

It is VERY unusual and so very cool! I constantly play on snapfish and shutterfly (and now will be checking out mypublisher) with my more than 900 photos:)

If you don't mind putting the album together yourself, try albumhouse.com. They have some very nice albums, both medium & large sizes. You order the album, the number of pages you want & the mats separately. DD(melmel) did this & it is beautiful. If you use Randy, as others have mentioned, you own the copyright on your pictures & can make as many as you want in any size you choose.
