DIY Room decorating tips and restrictions?

Wow, who would think that decorations would be an explosive issue?:rolleyes2 I think this will be the first trip that we decorate our window as it is our first Christmas trip and I've heard how guests decorate. It sounds like it's perfect for WDW where imagination and creativity is the reason that this wonderful place exists. I guess that some guests won't like it and this is what makes America such a great place to live. Guests who don't like it can walk by and not look at it. Guests who do, please stop, look and enjoy it. Guests who are celebrating holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc., decorate and have fun. Just don't use anything damaging like nails, tacks, or sticky tape. Be creative; use banners, cord, string or yarn with clip pins, use party store center pieces and stand alone decoration pieces on tables or chests and hanging items from wall lamps or ceiling fans (they're light weight). You'll be surprised how much you can find. Enjoy yourselves! pixiedust: :joker: :clown: :dance3:
BTW, I'm not trash; I'm a highly trained medical professional.

You did not talk to guests service ,you talked to a call center. They just give you the answer you like to hear.
As soon as I would see any trash on the doors in the resort I stay I would file a complaint.

As for the room I would make a big stink if I would get a room were there would be signs of using glue, tape or hooks. I will not pay 700 Dollars per night for a room were the glue and stains from a previous guest caused damage.
In the ten years we stay Deluxe we never ever saw a door decorated. If you would decorate you're door you would stick out like thrash.
Again I have to ask. Will you be happy if a guest damages a room in you're house??????

I would imagine that Guest Services, which is how they identified themselves, is also a Call Center. Anytime you call somewhere that is a source of information for a large corporation, chances are it is a Call Center. A Call Center is in itself not a negative thing. I am not asking for a response from Meg Crofton. I imagine there is a fairly good chance she won't be walking past my door.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I must be misunderstanding you, because it sounds like you are saying only "trash" would decorate their door. Sad to be a Mr. Grumpy Gills!

I would love it if someone staying in my home wanted to decorate. I would love it that they asked me first and I would love that they were concerned enough to ask about what wouldn't do any damage. Which is everything that everyone has done. I hope that addresses your concerns.

That stuff will leave a greasy spot on the wall.

That is true. I have found the same thing with the yellow one. I wouldn't recommend the tacky stuff, but I don't know if anything newer is better. I haven't used it in about 10 Years.

In order to get the answer that really matters, ask when you check in. Calling will not get you the front desk or a front desk manager.

But when you check in, you can ask for the on duty manager and ask them as to what is allowed and not allowed.

That will be the official answer for that particular resort.
