Your posting made me think of our honeymoon in 2006!
I hadn't been to WDW since I was 5, so going at the age of 24 I wasn't sure what to expect!
We had no idea what we were doing when we reserved through
AAA (which looking back, how dumb we were!!!! AAA Isn't a great 'agency' for trip PLANNING!) They'll book you, but as far as planning, an itinerary, - we didn't get any of that! The lady literally handed us a black and white rumpled copy of all the restaurants and said - here you go, pick out where you want to eat. We had NO CLUE!!!!!
We knew what we wanted to spend, and that was about it - and once we learned we could have a castle view from Wilderness Lodge we requested that! It turned out to be a Castle in the background, and dumpsters and service area in the foreground LOL We didn't know! HAHA
We booked 'Club Level' - had no idea what that was, what it meant, or why it was different - they didn't explain any of that to us!
So when we arrived at Wilderness Lodge, and the CM at the desk fiddled around with our reservation for a while and then went in to the back we thought - OH NO! They've lost our reservation!!!!
Well, when the manager came out, greeted us by name, whisked us away into the elevator to a key card only access floor we were like 'What in the world?!?!?!'
Well, when we got the grand tour - refreshments, and all the information we could possibly need - we just sat in the room and waited for our luggage to arrive. When it did, we greeted the bellman, he unloaded the luggage, and was gone before we realized we were supposed to have tipped him!! HAHAH
I grab cash, and take off running down the hallway in my sock feet to tip the guy - HAHAHAHA What a sight we were!
We love Wilderness Lodge - we cannot go to WDW without making a pilgrimage to 'the Lodge' as we lovingly refer to our log castle home away from home
It is just such a majestic resort! Stunning!
So anyway - here's to honeymooning at WDW - and for the love of the Mouse that started it all!
