Woowhoo the meds seem to be working and DD is in a MUCH better mood. And woowhoo mine and the DSs strep tests came up negative!

They can take the last week of August if a host is needed

Yesterday I was reading the Swolphin thread and someone mentioned the discount you can get at Swan or Swan Reserve if you are a D23 member, so I joined D23... I kind of can't believe I'm not already a member. Now I'm pretty sure I'm going to go, but can't book until I get my D23 stuff.

DH and I stayed at the Swan on our last visit. We loved it. We would definitely stay their again. I would not stay at the Dolphin is too big and confusing. The Swan was smaller.

Here a picture of the main pool. They have like a cave thing you can sit under that has a water fall. This is where we were sitting. It was just freezing this day,

I thought I had a picture of our room but I don't. I do know we were there before it was refurbished so it wouldn't have looked the same anyways. You will love it there.

I am Thankful that the rain stopped for my drive in and after the rain ends (sometime later today. It is supposed to rain all day) the humidity will finally drop and the weekend is supposed to be really nice and maybe on the cooler side. Now next week the humidity and heat are back but at least we get the weekend.

I've also stayed at both before and totally agree that the Dolphin is just too big. The Swan rooms have just gone thru refurbishment and from pictures I've seen it looks like the common areas have too. Molly and Allan from Mamfam recently did a staycation video there, which is what got me to thinking about it.

I am thankful that the tsunami warnings from the Russia earthquake turned into nothing. Not only does my Sister live at the ocean side, she lives on the first street back from the beach. She evacuated in the early evening, because there is only one way out and she didn't want to get stuck in the later traffic jam. When she got back home at 2a the only thing that was different was that the beach approaches were all closed. I think the folks who analyze how to predict impacts are going to learn a lot from this one.

 

[Summer2018]

I am thankful for my summer job in spite of all of the frustration it causes me. Bottom line, it is a decent job, my coworkers are nice, and the kids are alright too.

I am thankful that although it is happening at a glacial pace, I am losing weight. I am in much better shape this summer compared to last summer.

I am thankful that DD has enjoyed her trip thus far and is coming home on Saturday night.
