DH would like to know if any of the pools have diving boards? Thanks!!

no driving boards - slides yes!!!

most of DVC pools (except SALB) have a 5' as the tallest height.

SALB has 12' and 8' heights - but lots of lifeguards - so I won't try driving here.

That was quick! Thanks for the answer..... Dh will be bummed, but I'm sure he'll be on those slides!

There are probably exceptions, but its been years since any resort has exposed themselves to the liabilities associated with diving boards....can't remember the last time I've seen one.
:smooth:

Just think of what our dues would cost if we had to pay the liability insurance for a diving board:eek: No thanks!

And even if diving was allowed and cost us nothing in additional dues, think about how much disruption people diving in those relatively small pools could cause!

I shudder to think how long the thread on DVC Pools would get if diving were allowed! :p ;) :teeth:

There is no diving allowed at any WDW pool never mind a diving board.

I miss diving boards. They may have not been safe, but I spent hours diving as a kid and loved it. And with a deep enough pool and enough space, they were as safe as many things in life.

But they seem to be a near extinct pool accessory now - replaced by slides (which grown ups can ride) at many of Disney's resorts.

As far as I know, you can still dive in the big tank at the Living Seas. :) (OK.. I know I am being literal).

Going off topic... have any of you signed up for that? I am thinking of it for one of my future trips. My understanding is that they provide all of the scuba equipment, but they do allow you to use your own mask. How much advance notice is required for a reservation?

There was a diving board at a pool at a walt disney world resort, but I guess some recent changes have left it gone -

that pool is complete gone - I think it was the Contemporary - and it was also for adults to go straight line swimming - the lifeguards would actually tie the lanes off....

you're right - but I was thinking of the one at disney institute
