Divas, Zebra Domes, and Pixie Dust! A Week in an African Paradise! New TR Link Pg.145

Charles the King to Teppan Edo.

I think it's very wise to keep Teppan Edo at the end of your trips...Charles might want to leave early if not. :rotfl2:

Chelsea, our little DISer in training! Someday soon we'll be reading her TRs. Hehehe.

Hi Jackie! I'm glad you had such a nice last night dinner! I'm so jealous you're going back already. Can't wait to see what you do this time.

One of these days I will get into that art store at Epcot. We always mean to get back to it on the way out and we never do. Maybe next time....

Hey I had that Chef on our visit in December! He's great! Last time we ate there we had a girl cook for us. She was good too. Not the one we requested but still fun. There's one lady chef that is absolutely crazy at Teppan Edo. She dances around the whole time and makes fun with everyone. This is by far my favorite place to eat in all of WDW!

Pack it up day is never fun. Even when you are ready to get back home. You did the smart thing though.....you asked that pina colada to help you out! :thumbsup2

Awww man!! I can't believe your TR is coming to an end!! :sad1: Chelsea did a great job taking pics at dinner!! And how cool that you had a DISer come up to you at TE!! It sounds like your chef was fabulous!!

It was an all-around great time at Teppan Edo!

Don't worry, there is another trip report starting almost as soon as this one is over. :goodvibes

Charles and his love of Teppan Edo.....

Please tell him that I just found out there is a new Teppan Edo in the Magic Kingdom during MNSSHP nights....I reserved him a table <wink, wink>

:lmao: Oh, I am so tempted to say just that!

What a fun story about Charles and Teppan Edo, he did rule the country! Even more perfect was the fact that you were recognized by one of your adoring fans your royal highness Charleston Princess!:cutie:

I did feel very much like a celebrity! :goodvibes

Chelsea is indeed getting closer and closer to writing her own trip reports, her food porn was great! I would love to read her spin on things!;)

It would be hysterically funny, I am sure!

Then we have Connor, I can just imagine him in that chair with a belly ache. Comical and sad all at the same time.......

Oh, yes! Don't forget, I was hissing across the table, "Sit up! You are not going to lay on a chair in the middle of the restaurant just because your stomach hurts!"

I'm glad you got over your momentary insanity today and we able to get giddy with excitement over your trip again. It is hard to prepare with school in session isn't it? Just hang in there and before you know it you will be back to that place of happiness and leaving the real world behind!

Apparently, it is first thing in the morning when the insanity hits because I am feeling that way again -- I should go run my Target and Walmart errands to take my mind off of it.

Great updates... you just might be done before the trip!

I am excited for you and Charles (and a teeny bit jealous) that you are headed to the Mouse this week!

Teppan Edo is on my list... but I think I have to wait until Em and Luke get a bit bigger- Hannah would love it!

Thank you! Yes, I think I will actually get this one done before I leave -- just one more update and then I want to post some pre-trip stuff.

Teppan Edo is great, but I agree -- you should probably wait until the younger two are just a tad bit older.

the staircase up to Teppan Edo is a killer after a long day on your feet.
If it weren't for the dignity and decorum I always display, I would have crawled up them on our last trip.

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: That's what kept me from crawling up the stairs, too! ;)

Truth be told I'm a teeny bit jealous too!

I remember wanting to crawl up those stairs too! That was almost a year ago and at this moment it seems like yesterday we were climbing that mountain.

Just remember that I will be the envious one in December. :goodvibes

Those stairs are killers after a long day in World Showcase.

There are an awful lot of DIS Friends that have fall trips planned.... I have a long eight months to go.

It will fly by -- just think with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas these three months will fly by -- then during the long, winter months we can all keep each other company while we plan for the summer. :goodvibes

oh no your TR almost over! On the bright side in 5 days you'll be at disney world! (I won't, so sad:rotfl2:)
The last day is always so sad I always think "24 hours from now I'll be home, depressed.:sad1:."
Oh, Any ideas for a name of a birthday/holiday PTR & TR combined?:confused3

I am a little sad this trip report is coming to an end, too.

Hmmm, PTR/TR names are always hard to come up with for me -- I spend months thinking about them.

I know this missing out on all the fall fun has been a bit of a downer. Even though last year it was such a hassle getting ready amidst fall conferences and then the sub plans. I have long forgotten that pain and wish that we could go, but we can't.
I have 84 days to wait.
OK, I'll stop complaining!

It is all the getting ready in the middle of regular school stuff that is killing me! I am used to my week between school getting out and leaving.

Great update! Chelsea did a wonderful job with her food porn pics!

I'm so glad I didn't ruin your night. I felt kind of silly walking up to you - thankfully you're super nice! I love that it made you feel like a celebrity - because I felt like I was meeting a celeb!

Shoot! Your TR is nearly over. So sad! At least you can comfort yourself with another trip to WDW. Have a fabulous time! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Carissa

Chelsea was cracking me up with her pictures.

Oh, Carissa, you didn't ruin my night at all! I was just so tickled!

I am kinda bummed that this TR is almost done -- but there is another one...

Glad you had a nice meal at Teppan Edo! Sounds like so much fun. :goodvibes

We had such a great time there from start to finish!

Charles the King to Teppan Edo.

I think it's very wise to keep Teppan Edo at the end of your trips...Charles might want to leave early if not. :rotfl2:

Chelsea, our little DISer in training! Someday soon we'll be reading her TRs. Hehehe.

Good thinking, LL! Teppan Edo will ALWAYS be our last-night tradition from here on out! :thumbsup2

Chelsea loves to write (wonder where she gets that from :rolleyes1), so I am sure her TRs would be a hoot to read.

Hi Jackie! I'm glad you had such a nice last night dinner! I'm so jealous you're going back already. Can't wait to see what you do this time.

Thank you! It will most certainly be a different kind of trip since the kids aren't coming, and it will just be Charles and me. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that Charles behaves himself.

One of these days I will get into that art store at Epcot. We always mean to get back to it on the way out and we never do. Maybe next time....

I was surprised by how small it was!

He was awesome! I wish I could remember his name!

Pack it up day is never fun. Even when you are ready to get back home. You did the smart thing though.....you asked that pina colada to help you out! :thumbsup2

I could have used about three more to help with the packing. :rotfl:

The ears hats on the two little girls at your table are cute.

We enjoyed our Teppan Edo meal (just about to get to that on the TR, as a matter of fact). We were treated well as commoners, but not as royalty, like you guys.

It is good to read of Charles laughing and having a good time at WDW. I hope he enjoys this upcoming trip.

It's cool that you were recognized by another DISer. That's fun!

Too sad that this one is coming to an end, but you'll keep us going with the next one. Who is going to fill in for Chelsea and her glamour poses on this trip?

And then there's planning for the next family trip, too, right? We can't go too long without knowing what is going on with Chelsea and Connor!

I don't think I've seen a Nala update lately, either. What's she been chewing up lately?

The first cold of the school year is always the worst. I'm happy that I'm feeling better, but seems like the rain has made it's way to NYC.

The food pics Chelsea took are great! Teppan Edo looks fantastic. I'm thinking that may make my list for August.

I can't believe your tr is almost over :sad1: I can't wait to read your tr from F&W and the CBR. Are you ready to go?

The ears hats on the two little girls at your table are cute.

They were sweet and very well-behaved.

We enjoyed our Teppan Edo meal (just about to get to that on the TR, as a matter of fact). We were treated well as commoners, but not as royalty, like you guys.

 I can't wait to hear about your experience at Teppan Edo and to see who your chef was -- did the boys join you there?

It is good to read of Charles laughing and having a good time at WDW. I hope he enjoys this upcoming trip.

I hope so, too -- he has been more gung-ho about it than I have been so let's hope that is the case while we are there. I might be a teensy bit mad if he doesn't have a good time.

It's cool that you were recognized by another DISer. That's fun!

It was so neat!

Too sad that this one is coming to an end, but you'll keep us going with the next one. Who is going to fill in for Chelsea and her glamour poses on this trip?

That's funny that you said that because I just told Charles last night that we would have to fill in for Chelsea and Connor picture-wise next weekend. ;)

And then there's planning for the next family trip, too, right? We can't go too long without knowing what is going on with Chelsea and Connor!

Oh, yes, there will be planning for the next family trip! We are shaking things up a bit for next year, so it should be interesting.

I don't think I've seen a Nala update lately, either. What's she been chewing up lately?

It would probably be a shorter list if I said what she hasn't been chewing...actually she has calmed down a bit with age -- we think she is about eleven months old now (she was a Halloween baby which might explain her evil tendencies).

Here's a current picture taken just this morning for you, MeMom! :goodvibes

The first cold of the school year is always the worst. I'm happy that I'm feeling better, but seems like the rain has made it's way to NYC.

Yick. If I don't ever see rain again this year, I would be fine with that!

The food pics Chelsea took are great! Teppan Edo looks fantastic. I'm thinking that may make my list for August.

We always have a great time there!

I can't believe your tr is almost over :sad1: I can't wait to read your tr from F&W and the CBR. Are you ready to go?

Getting there -- this going to work thing is going to get in my way this week!

Chelsea did great with the food porn! :) I am soo eating their next time at Epcot! I can't believe I have missed that you are going back this week!! Is it just you and Charles?? where are you staying... I soo missed that info!

Glad to finally see some sun here!

What a great night at Teppan Edo. Chelsea did a great job with the food porn pictures. I always hate the last night in Disney. I can't believe you are going to be back there this week! I am jealous!

Ok, I haven't posted in a while but I definitely have been reading along. Grad school is seriously taking up all my time :headache: Anyway, I keep hearing about the flooding in Georgia and thinking of you and Heather. Hope everythings clearing up for you guys down there and everyone you care about is safe!

I'm so sad your report is almost over :guilty: Teppan Edo was a great way to end your trip though, that place is yummyyyyy!

Chelsea reiterated her desire to take a journey through the history of communication, but Charles asked, “Isn’t that the one that stops all the time?” I answered in the affirmative, and he made the excellent point that we might not have enough time before our dinner ressie at Teppan Edo.

We dragged ourselves up the steep stairs to Teppan Edo and collapsed onto seats to wait for our buzzer to turn blue and flash.

Good-bye beautiful Morocco!
Good-bye Spaceship Earth!

Good-bye Monorail!

Bye again Spaceship Earth!
Good-bye Spaceship Earth and Epcot Palm Tree!

A few things I forgot to respond to in the prior post this morning:

We have had this same conversation before about not riding SSE before an ADR.

You should have seen me going up those steps this summer. I bet some laughing teenager has it on video somewhere out there. One leg, drag up the bum knee, one leg, drag up the bum knee...over and over until I made it! :goodvibes

We so, so, so do the goodbye everything as we leave the parks for the last time! :sad2:

 I can't wait to hear about your experience at Teppan Edo and to see who your chef was -- did the boys join you there?

The boys do. It's coming soon.

Nala is a doll!

What a lovely evening at Teppan Edo (those stairs are killer though), Chelsea did well with the food porn.

I was :lmao: about your Norway comment.

Poor Connor...three glasses of lemonade!

How fun to be recognized! What a celebrity you are! :) And rightfully so.

What a wonderful last evening and great end to the trip.

I'm so glad you mentioned the stairs at Teppan Edo. I had no idea and we're going with two women who have trouble walking! I will have to allow extra time for that!! Thanks!

Great update Jackie! I don't mind people watching if there's blond gorgeous guys walking around!!:) In all our trips we have never tried Teppan Edo. We will have to try it one of these days. Your Nala is adorable. Cannot wait to hear about your upcoming trip!!

Awww...Jackie...I decided to take the afternoon and just relax here in my room at the resort...I had a great time at MK today and I was excited to catch up on your update!! Love the dinner at Teppan Edo...what fun!!!! The food also looks so yummy!!!!! I'm glad you guys had such a great dinner!!!

Awww...I always hate the last day, but thankfully your return is only mere days away!! I can't wait to see you!!

BTW Chelsea took some great food porn pictures...good for her!!!!

The next few days will fly by and you'll get everything done :thumbsup2 But work definitely gets in the way of Disney trip planning. I should just teach my 3rd graders fuzzy Disney math :rotfl2:

Navigationally challenged Charles strikes again! (We had a few Directionless Denny moments last week, too!). :lmao: Of course, you will just have to wait to read about them. ;)

What a great choice of a restaurant for your last night. So fun and festive. I love Chelsea's pics. She did a great job. :thumbsup2 I suspect you will give her more camera duty on your next trip.

When do you leave???? Thursday, Friday??????? I'm so confused! :confused3

Oh....by the way......the Storm Chasers attraction is neat and certainly nothing to be afraid of. They do a simulated storm in the beginning, but its all on the screen. Then the audience answers questions about ways to better prepare for a storm. Then the answers are implemented and the audience sees how those changes hold up in a storm. It was actually more educational than anything else. Since you are a teacher you have no excuse. You must go.

OK....so I told you about Storm Chasers, but I AM NOT going to tell you what happens when you photograph the wall opposite the cavemen on spaceship earth. You will have to figure that out yourself. Don't forget your flash!

Love the update!! I so have to check out Teppan! We have a couple of restaurants like that where I live and we frequent them often.

So happy that your DH enjoyed himself so much :thumbsup2

I can not believe the vacation is coming to an end!! Looking forward to reading about your last day.
