How soon?
My eyes are closing, so I'm going to bed, but you know I'll be up bright and early (really it's
dark and early) checking in here for new news!
Hope you had sweet dreams, MeMom. The update took me a long time to write, but I knew you would enjoy it first thing this morning.
HAHA OMG your car story was so funny!!! I love the "slower, slower" part!!! My boss was up in Macon camping you probably shared a road with him at some point, look we're that much closer to six degrees of separation!! I want to come up to Georgia and camp in the winter and go skiing, do they have that?
It was quite funny to experience. Only later in the week did I realize that Charles had no idea how to work the zoom on the camera -- that's what probably took so long. That's neat about your boss. There are lots of places to camp in Georgia, but for skiing you would have to go to North Carolina or Tennessee.
Aren't all men the same? I swear they can't listen, DH is the same way! I am loving the TR so far! glad to see that the weather cooperated with you and you made it to my happy place safe and sound!
Thank you! Yes, I think most men can be similar. Ha Ha!
I laughed out loud reading your car trip recap--I'm sure it will be the first of many funny moments
Thank you! Yes, it was just the beginning!
He was in a typical Charles mood.
That is so neat about the exchange student!!! Do you know any French? I bet she will be lots of fun to have around!
Great update Jackie, the whole dialogue had me rolling!
Do you always drive the entire way down?!?
Thank you! Sometimes I "let" Charles drive --especially if the weather is bad. Otherwise, I like to drive because it seems to make the time go faster, and I don't do well just sitting in the passenger seat -- I tend to play with the radio endlessly and smack my gum too loud. LOL!
Your update got me to thinking......
I think I will have my wife drive us to Disney next summer.
I just checked Mapquest and it is only a little over 21 hours from our town to the world.
I think she can handle that without any problems!
I mean, if you can make that drive from Atlanta, I think she can make the drive from Kansas.
Now, now, Shocker, don't get any ideas! Your trip would be three times longer than ours from Atlanta, and I can promise you that by the time we reach Disney we are about ready to come out of our skins from being in the car too long.
Keep to flying. Although from some of yours and Wigd's comments, you might have been able to get home faster by driving rather than flying this last time!
Okay, I'm checking in! I have seen you on so many of the same threads I'm on - I thought I'd get to know you! So far your family looks like alot of fun and I'm only on page 2. I can't wait to hear all about it - AKL is my dream stay, too! We stayed there 2 nights with my buds the giraffes, but I do want to stay longer next time!

I have seen you around lots, too! I fell in love with the giraffes! I definitely want to stay at AKL again and again and again!
Okay, love your drive down! I'm glad Charles got his nappie and you made it safely without the big storm.
Yes, my Sleeping Beauty was quite refreshed by the time we hit Florida. We were so lucky to miss most of the rain!
So at this point, can one assume that Connor had been the most well-behaved passenger on the trip?
What was he reading?
Or perhaps he was quietly taking notes on what to do in the future (when he's the dad) to drive his wife crazy on road trips?
Yes, in fact, I announced in the car at one point, "The Best Behaved Passenger Award goes to Connor!" He was quite pleased with himself.
He was rereading The Kingdom Keepers.
His poor wife in later years...I will feel sorry for her as long as she loves Disney. LOL!
