Hello Divas. I hope you are all having a great day. Mine has been ok so that is a plus.

For those of you who remember Heather and know what she has been working on the past year and a half...:thumbsup2:cool1::banana:! She is only a little over 4 weeks now and her family has a history of miscarriages but it looks like it finally took so any good thoughts you could send her way about everything staying kosher would be great!

My friend's wedding is in 17 days and tomorrow night and I am driving an hour with her to go pick up her wedding dress and learn how to bustle it. UGH! Mine was horrible to bustle so I hope hers is easier! Anyway, it should be fun hanging out with her.

In about that same amount of time my other best friend is moving home so I will get to spend the summer and hopefully years to come with my two best friends in the same county! I am thrilled!

Hope everyone is well!

Talk soon,
SarahMay

Sarah - Keeping lots of good thoughts for Heather.

Evening all. Not much going on with me lately. The kids finished school before Memorial Day. They're not 'bored' yet but I'm sure I'll be hearing it soon. ;)

I hope all is well with everyone.

Take care, talk to you soon.

You might want to try a summer workbook to curb any potential boredom. I buy the Summer Bridge series. Even though school was out yesterday, my boys were asking to do work  I wasn't planning to start the workbooks until next week, but since they were eager we started today and they each ended up doing two and half days worth of work. Paint me shocked!

I think I have filled every waking moment with art days, movie days, day trips, etc. to keep all of us sane. Disneyland cannot come soon enough though!

Just a quick drop in to say hi.

I hope summer is going good for everyone. All the talk of summer Disney trips is making me sad...I want to go.

Beth - I just booked for Vegas July 18-22. I'm meeting my mom over there and then she's taking Madi back home with her for a few weeks. It should be fun...hot but fun.

Jen - I saw a piece on the news the other night about Yosemite and the waterfalls. The ranger being interviewed said that he has never seen the waterfalls look as beautiful as they do right now and he's worked there for like 25 years. You should have a great time.

Bridget - Your job sounds like so much fun, definately a lot of work but a good time while you do it. Your clients must have a blast.

Well everybody, have a great week!!! The weekend's just around the corner.

Jodi

Morning everyone!

Bridget as usual all your adventures sound like fun and that latest party sounds like a blast. I wish I was one of the people going to one of your parties, they sound wonderful!! ;)

Sarah that is great news about Heather and I will definitely be keeping her in my prayers that it all works out!! Please keep us informed. So excited for her!

That is funny that the kids are already bored and have only been out of school a day LOL. I used to do the workbooks with my girls every year but we do SO many sports now that this past summer was the first year we didn't do them. Our swim practice is 5 days a week now and starting next week it is double and they have it in the morning too if they want to go and my girls usually like to go a few times a week. So we keep pretty busy. Plus they are getting to the age where they just like to sleep in, play video games, play outside on their bikes etc. They are MORE than ready to be done with school LOL.

We still have two days left. Today is the 6th grade promotion so all the younger grades put on a performance for them so each of my girls have a song to perform for them and the day pretty much revolves around them. Then tomorrow is Katy's "promotion" which is the breakfast and slide show in the morning and I am going to go to that and then for her class anyway they are going to play culligan ball (whatever that is) against the 6th graders and I am not sure what Shelby's class is doing but probably some type of party. They have a minimum day tomorrow. And then of course we are all really excited about Mary Poppins tomorrow night!

I have to go in to work today to get everything wrapped up and get it all sorted out for next week when I am gone. I am pretty much all packed but will have to do some last minute stuff on Saturday.

Yosemite sounds like a lot of fun. I have been a few times but not in the last few years and would like to get back there. I bet it is beautiful right now!

We are going to OR/WA in July and I am really excited to see all the scenery up there. We are going to Crater lake and to the waterfalls along the OR/WA border and then spending a day in Portland and then heading up to Seattle and then working our way home down the coast. So looking forward to that. I used to live up there for 3 years and I always love going back up there and haven't been since 05 I think so it will be nice to get back up there. I am sure it has changed a lot!

Hope everyone has a great day and enjoys all the various activities they are doing this week!

Good morning, ladies!!

Today is the last day of school here! Finally.
The twin's have their "graduation" ceremony today so I'll be heading off to that later this morning. They are very excited. :)

Have a great day everyone!!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone! :wave2:

Hope everyone is having a great day. :goodvibes
Hi Wendy! Good to see you.

In about that same amount of time my other best friend is moving home so I will get to spend the summer and hopefully years to come with my two best friends in the same county! I am thrilled!
How great, Sarah!
I wish I had friends or family who lived closer. Kinda sucks sometimes being out here when they are all in MI or CA.

Wishing the best for Heather!

They're not 'bored' yet but I'm sure I'll be hearing it soon. ;)
:rotfl: I'll be hearing that probably within a few days!!

I think I have filled every waking moment with art days, movie days, day trips, etc. to keep all of us sane. Disneyland cannot come soon enough though!
Sounds fun! Summer is a challenge here. With triple digit temps you can't exactly send the kids outside to play. It's not that bad yet, but it will be before long. And with one car, it's tough to go places.
As for work? No way would my kids want to do more work. LOL When they were younger yes, but not now. :rotfl:

Beth - I just booked for Vegas July 18-22. I'm meeting my mom over there and then she's taking Madi back home with her for a few weeks. It should be fun...hot but fun.
Hot? Oh yes. ;) But remember, it's a dry heat. lol

We are going to OR/WA in July and I am really excited to see all the scenery up there. We are going to Crater lake and to the waterfalls along the OR/WA border and then spending a day in Portland and then heading up to Seattle and then working our way home down the coast.
I love the waterfalls in OR. When I was younger I hiked all the way to the top of the Multnomah falls. So pretty!

Whew! I just spent the past two hours scrubbing my kitchen, which isn't all that large, from top to bottom. My arms hurt, but it's all purty now. :)
I'm trying to get some cleaning done today because after tomorrow, when all four kids are home all day, forget it. I'll be lucky to keep the place picked up, let alone scrubbed.

Want to come do mine for me!! ;)

Wow, that picnic on Saturday sounds awesome. I wanna go! :rotfl: It also all sounds like a lot of work for you though. One of these days I'd love to hear all about your business, how you got started, what sort of parties you've done, etc. You'll have to find an excuse to come on out to Vegas and we'll do lunch. ;)

Love to have you - margaritas are cold! I have never been to Vegas (can you believe it!) so it is on my list. When I do - it is a date!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone! :wave2:

Hope everyone is having a great day. :goodvibes

Hi Wendy!

I hope all is well with everyone.

Take care, talk to you soon.

Hi Steph - hope all is well with you too!

Just a quick drop in to say hi.

Bridget - Your job sounds like so much fun, definately a lot of work but a good time while you do it. Your clients must have a blast.

HI Jodi - It is fun - luckily majority of our clients are great!

Morning everyone!

Bridget as usual all your adventures sound like fun and that latest party sounds like a blast. I wish I was one of the people going to one of your parties, they sound wonderful!! ;)

If you are in the area, drop on by!

We leave for Yosemite on Monday and I just realized that while it will be in the mid 70's there next week, there is still a ton of snow on the ground! Should make for an interesting trip!

Yosemite should be gorgeous - all the water will make the falls spectacular! Enjoy!

Beth have fun at the graduation and I am sure your kids are ecstatic that it is their last day!!

Mine are excited as well. Today is their short day anyway and then tomorrow is the last day of school so it is a minimum day so really they don't have too much left. Next year it is going to be really weird though (unless they change our calendar). Our state is having major budget issues as I am sure most of you know and we got a notice that school is "supposed" to start back on August 22 but they are voting on it on June 14th. Which says to me that it may start later than that. The word has been that due to budget cuts they may be shortening the school year and increasing holidays and such. This is NOT a good thing because that means they are getting less education. But I won't get on my soapbox. But my point was that as of now they have them getting off on a MONDAY for their last day next year which is really bizarre. We have always started school on a Monday and their last day has always been on a Friday. But for the next Three years they have them starting on a Monday next year but ending on a monday then the following year starting on a THURSDAY a whole week earlier than usual and then getting out a week earlier and on a wed???? And basically the same for the following year. So who knows if this will stick or what but really strange. I kind of like them getting out a week earlier but not starting on August 15. That is REALLY early! But guess we will have to wait and see. Crazy stuff going on in this state I tell ya!

As for the waterfalls yes you are right I LOVE that whole area. When I lived in Vancouver I used to drive up I84 which is the interstate on the Oregon side all the time. It was a simple day trip and I would usually go as far as Hood River. I loved going on the scenic highway to see all the various falls and over by Vista House. I used to be a LOT more active when I lived up there. Used to mountain bike and hike quite a bit. Wish I could get motivated to do that again!! ;)

We are planning on driving up 97 through Bend after we leave Crater lake and coming in at Hood River. Hoping to maybe stop in at Timberline so I can show the girls the lodge there. It is really beautiful. And we are staying the night in Hood River our 2nd night and then spending our 3rd day driving up the scenic highway stopping at the various falls. I do plan to at least take the girls up the bridge at Multonomah but doubt I can make it to the top. I would probably pass out now LOL.

Then on that wed we are going to take them to the zoo. They have the rose test gardens there and it is so pretty there. Also the Pittock Mansion. I used to work in downtown Portland at the Koin Bldg and then at one of the bldgs down by the river near the World Trade Center bldg. I used to love going out and eating lunch by the river and on clear days you could see Mt. Hood. I really miss it!

I will def take lots of pics and post them on FB when I get back!! :)

Just sitting here at work waiting for mom. I got all my work done and everything laid out for her to do while I am gone. She had to run meet a client and then we are going to grab some lunch.

Hope you had fun at the graduation! :)

Hope everyone else is having a great day as well!!

Beth~ How fun for you with graduation. Was there cake involved? (insert smily with fork here )

It is so quiet in here today! Tonight is our big high school Jello Flop. I am pretty excited to see a bunch of our students jump into 300 gallons of jello. It is going to be messy.

Hi Ladies, I came on tonight to catch up and we were on the second page. At least it's been easy to catch up. My kids aren't out until June 28 but I wish it was sooner. The nights are so nice right now and it's hard to send them to bed when they're out playing together. I've been letting them stay up far too late, which makes for grumpy kids in the morning.

Morning all!

Wow Angie June 28th that's a long time still. Do you guys not start till the middle of September? I agree that must be tough. I thought getting out when we do was tough because right now it is so light still as you mentioned and trying to get the girls to go to bed at 8 or even 8:30 is tough but this past week since it was the last one I have been letting them slide a bit.

Today is FINALLY our last day. I am meeting my mom and dad over at the school so they can watch the little slide show they are going to put on for the kids and not sure what type of "promotion" they are going to actually have. I know I have spoken about it on here before and I know it is not going to be a big deal like what they had last night for the 6th graders so not really sure what to expect but I want to be there regardless since this is all she is going to get. Then mom and dad are going to leave after the ceremony and I am going to stay and watch the kids play ball and such till the day is over around 12:30. Then the girls and I have to run a few last minute errands to get some more stuff done for our trip and then tonight we are meeting up with mom and going to dinner at Cheesecake factory before the play. YUM!

I am really excited about the play. I have heard great things about it so am hoping it is good!

We used to have season passes to the music circus and community center here in town but it has gotten too expensive so now we just go every so often. It is too bad because I really used to enjoy when we had the season tickets. We would go see a play about once a week and I really looked forward to that. They have put on some great productions and it is a fun summer outing to do. Ah well maybe someday we will be able to do it again. :)

Anyway then tomorrow we are going to be getting the car all ready to go and then in the afternoon we are going to go see that movie Super 8. It has always been a tradition on the last day of school that we go see a movie to celebrate but since we can't do that today we decided to go tomorrow. Honestly with our trip coming up I probably would have blown it off this year but I REALLY want to see that one so we decided to go ahead and go :)

Anyway that's bout it for me.

Hope everyone is having fun enjoying all their summer activities and end of school stuff. Take care and talk soon!

Well thank goodness that week is over! I have made the monumental decision that I am going to quit my job even though I don't have another one yet. I keep telling myself that my job is not that bad - I have a nice office and work at a beautiful place - but it is like death by a thousand cuts. So now I have to wait another week until my boss gets back from vacation to tell him that I am planning to leave. I have actually been smiling tonight and realized that it has been weeks since I have done that!

We had a nice beach day last Saturday. The Oregon coast really is very pretty:
C-Beach107.jpg

Then on the drive back we saw this right by the road:
C-Beach207.jpg

Sure enough, right after that there was an elk crossing sign. I haven't been posting much but have been reading along. Have a great weekend everyone!

Morning everyone!

We had a GREAT day yesterday! Mom, Dad and I went to the school and they had a cute little slide show for the kids and Katy's teacher bought each of her students a copy which was really sweet of her to do because I overheard that the other teacher didn't do that so that was really nice! After the little slide show they gave each kid a little certificate that had their picture on it and it was really nice and they all stood up together (both classes) and then we went out and they had that breakfast which really was just some fruit and some cereal bars. Mom and Dad left then and most of the kids had dressed up so they changed and then they played this game called culligan ball which is basically a version of softball. Then we went back to the class and they had a little party and handed out their report cards and then it got really emotional because it was also the teacher's last day. LOTS of teachers around here are getting pink slips because of the budget and this was her first and LAST year. So sad. Lots of tears all the way round! What got to me was when the bell rang they played that song Good Bye from Sounds of Music. Ahhh it was so sad!

Anyway then the girls and I just came home and relaxed till it was time to go and we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then to the play. All I can say is that play is AMAZING! I had heard great things but it was REALLY awesome! One of my favs for sure! The next one we want to see is Wicked! There are also a few others in the series that we are interested in that we may try and go see but def Wicked which isn't till next summer.

Anyway we got home REALLY late but now today we are just going to be running errands and getting stuff done round here and then in the afternoon we are going to go see Super 8.

I don't know if I will have time to come on here tomorrow but I will be checking in on FB. Otherwise we will be back next Sat night. Have a good week everyone and I am sure I will probably check in maybe once more but if not see you in a week!! :)

Carol - That is a big decision but it seems to be the right one for you. I wish you the best with your job hunt and applaud your decision. If I had the ability to leave (only due to my boss) my job I would. I love being in the AF and am very close (5 years to go) to retirement. Your description of "thousand paper cuts" sounds very familiar to me.

I saw the price increases and it makes me a bit sad. :sad2: My kids really want to go back but with the cost of tickets not including everything else it really puts it out of reach for us. Of course I could start buying lottery tickets so it wouldn't be. :rotfl:

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Hi everyone!
Hope you all are having a good weekend so far. I am heading to work in just a bit but i have tomorrow off! Woo!

Life just never seems to settle down. I have full custody of maddie now and I LOVE it, I just have less free time lol. She is much happier and so am I. Brent moved two blocks away and that is nice bc he can see her more than just his every other weekend.

I just found out I owe my tax preparer $450 :sad2: it's a long story. Let's just say it has to do with my ex and having to have my taxes done 3 times. Anywho...that's pretty much all my Disney money I had socked away for the ladies trip. I will be able to get money saved again, but gosh dang it..Im already struggling as it is. I work extra hours to save for these things. Like my mom says, at least i have the money to pay the tax guy. So I should look on the bright side. :)

Any trip plans? popcorn:: I have been MIA around here and need to get caught up!

Hello ladies!! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far. :)

Nothing much going on here. Ruben had to work today and might have to work tomorrow so our first official summer weekend is a bit of a bust, lol. But that's ok. We need the overtime and it's rare to get it these days, so when it's offered we have to jump on it.

Anyway, talk to y'all later!

Beth~ How fun for you with graduation. Was there cake involved? (insert smily with fork here )

It is so quiet in here today! Tonight is our big high school Jello Flop. I am pretty excited to see a bunch of our students jump into 300 gallons of jello. It is going to be messy.
Nope, no cake. Darn it! lol But they had tray after tray of different varieties of cookies. I sampled a few..... :rolleyes1

That Jello Flop sounds awesome!

Hello Miss Angie! Wow, your kids still have a ways to go before summer break. I can see how that would make it tough. Warm summer nights are the best. Perfect for staying up late. :)

Well thank goodness that week is over! I have made the monumental decision that I am going to quit my job even though I don't have another one yet.

We had a nice beach day last Saturday. The Oregon coast really is very pretty:

OMG, that picture is like my idea of heaven on earth! Love it!!

Good luck to you on the job front. I'm glad you are happy and at peace with your decision. That's the most important thing.

Morning everyone!

Anyway then the girls and I just came home and relaxed till it was time to go and we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then to the play. All I can say is that play is AMAZING!
That's great! Glad you had so much fun!!
Safe travels to you. Look forward to your updates and pics on FB.

Hi Steph! You and me both!! I should start playing the lotto too.
Did you see the movie, "Eat Pray Love"? There is a scene in there where she talks about a Catholic joke about a man who spent his whole life going to church every day and prayed to the statue of a great saint begging “please, please, please, let me win the lottery.” Finally the exasperated statue comes to life and looks down at the begging man and says “my son, please, please, please, buy a ticket.”

I liked that. :thumbsup2

Any trip plans? popcorn:: I have been MIA around here and need to get caught up!
Hey January! Glad to hear things are going great for you and Maddie. Sorry about the tax money, but like your mom said, at least you have it. I know I wouldn't!

As for trip plans........ nope none of those at the moment. End of school year, and summer seems to be keeping everyone busy, busy, busy.
But I think we need some trip plans to tide us over. Just a little sumthin-sumthin. ;)

Maybe, just maybe, the Meet and Greet committee and the Scavenger Hunt committee can pop in and give us a little hint.......a little something to cling to over the long dog days of summer. Come on, ladies!! We're waiting..... :rolleyes1

Hi All! So the big plans around here today are to work in the yard, around the house, and then go see the new X-Men movie. My dmil is taking the kids so dh and I can see it. I am really looking forward to it!

I hope you all have a great day!
