Wendy- No more FB? :(

Jen- I hope you are able to get into the marathon

Beth- I hope your DD feels better! :)

Monica- I ate at Hungry Bear yesterday. Cute photos :) I love the lemon cupcake. :lovestruc It's so tasty!

Morning all!

Just sitting here at work trying to get some stuff done!

Beth I mentioned it on FB but hope Noelle feels better and you don't get it!!

Wendy sorry to hear you won't be on FB!! Hope we will see you on here at least!!

Rochelle that was really awful what those people did on the tram and you are right I have seen that a lot and it stinks! Love the vinyls! Cute!

Beth I am with you and can't WAIT for spring break as well! Although I think the girls are still going to have to go to swim practice which kind of sucks cuz the whole nice thing of having the break is not having to DO anything. But they are already going to miss various days for things like Open House and Shelby's bday and probably a few other things here and there and then a whole week when we go on vacation so can't miss anymore. But I am SO looking forward to no school and spending some time with them and really hoping for some good weather so we can maybe do some outdoors stuff. Go to the park or maybe the zoo or some other fun stuff. Mom wants to take them to go see Rio and that is part of Shelby's birthday so looking forward to that as well!!

We have STAR testing starting soon as well. Lots of stuff going on but def counting down the days! Easter, Shelby's b-day, then Shane and I's bdays and end of school and before you know it it will be time for Disney!! Yippee!!! :)

Thanks for the Hungry Bear Review~! I am living through the reviews until I can sink my teeth into that fried green tomato sandwich myself in October!

So I did something stupid ... I was trying a new filet technique last night making dinner and the really sharp filet knife slipped and I cut myself pretty badly...(that knife went through my flesh like it was butter) not bad enough for stitches but almost. The cut is right at the base of my thumb and is still throbbing this morning. Hubby finished dinner and Colton hovered over me until bedtime and got me spiderman bandaids because they make you feel better. I feel like an idiot.

I'm thinking a visit to the Hungry Bear needs to be in my plans for June!

:wave2: Hey hey peoples!

Hi Jessica! Hope you are feeling better!

 Thanks Paula! Somewhat. Things still feel "off" for me and I cannot figure out why to save my life. Jeeeeesh!

Beth, I hope Noelle feels better soon.
I hope everyone has a happy Monday!
Thanks Wendy. I made her some tea and she hated it. Hmph. Ungrateful kid. lol

While waiting to board the tram, there were barely any people in line to board at the time, plenty of seats and room available. Well I was waiting and then this lady and her family shows up, cuts in front of me and gets on the tram. I have this: "WTH" expression on my face like "what just happened??" Then she hits me in the knee with her kid's stroller and doesn't even apologize :headache: I can't stand it when rude guests are so self-absorbed and have no common courtesy. I was also very squooshed between her family and the large stroller. One of her family members said: "Scoot over" at me, like I could really move at all! I just couldn't wait to get off the tram.

I hate rude people. And sadly, they are everywhere.

Oh my goodness, Sherri, that sound so painful. :(

:wave2: Hey hey peoples!
What's up, Jessica? :)

The end of a busy weekend. Still need to catch up on my reading but wanted to share. My daughter and me went on a last minute day trip to Disneyland on Friday. We usually go around our birthdays (hers was last week). I had the day off so we drove up for the day. It was very hot, crowded but manageable. The longest we waited was for finding nemo which stated 30 minutes but didn't seem like that long. The line for the dole whip was longer than some of the ride lines.
We saw Aladin loved it. (I forgot how much I loved this show we haven't seen in a while) Spent most of our day at Disneyland. We had a great day.

I remeber talk about eating at the Hungry Bear as a group. We ate there for lunch. We shared the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich with the zesty slaw, ordered a side of sweet potato fries, Lemon “Bumblebee” Cupcake, and the Blueberry Pie. We enjoyed it very much. we both loved the sandwich, my DD stated best sandwich she ever ate (wanted another one later on) the zesty slaw was good I enjoyed the sweet potato fries but DD liked the zesty slaw better. She said "we make these fries at home" We each ate half the desserts both were good but enjoyed the meal more.

monica

Hi Monica!
DD24 & I were at the parks on Friday, too!
And we ate dinner at HB and had the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich with SP fries. I loved it. :lovestruc And yes, the slaw was very tasty. That coupled with the remouloude (or whatever they call it) sauce. It reminds me of the dip they use for Pomme Frites at Cafe Orleans, but spicier. We thought the parks were a mad house and other than seeing the Aladdin show only did three rides.:sad2: We did shop, eat and rest a lot though! We'll have to meet up next time. :)

Beth-I hope Noelle feels better and no one else in the family gets sick. ;)

Am a bit tired this morning as Mondays are not my favorite.

Yay! Glad you guys liked the HB food too :cutie: I really like it and the cupcake is awesome

Comfy beds are great :thumbsup2 For $200 less, it might be the way we go.

Think of all the yummy food you could buy with all that money you saved. Yummm.

Morning ladies! Exciting times around here yesterday. We have had an influx of wasps lately - so bad we could not go out into the backyard - so I had Beebusters come over. I was floored with how many nest they took out - one of them was at least 10" wide!! Yikes! No wonder we were having a bee party!!

We leave tomorrow for skiing at Mammoth - haven't ski this mountain so looking forward to it.

Yikes! We get lots of wasps around here, especially at work. Last year there was a nest next to our dumpster, so taking the garbage out was quite the adventure for me.

Have a great time in Mammoth!

Finally caught up! I took a few days off from the thread as I had worked 6 night shifts in a row. Then was supposed to have 5 days off but ended up picking up an extra shift in the middle. A few more extra shifts and I'll be able to splurge for my birthday trip!

Just reading your work schedule makes me want a nap. Yay for splurging on your birthday trip though!

The beds at the Carousel do look cozy :thumbsup2

I agree. I'm wanting to try out Carousel based on their pictures alone. Of course, I never met a bed I didn't like.

Good Sunday Morning Ladies!

Thanks to all for the congratulations! Looks like this will be a really busy really fun summer. Plus it will make the time fly (I hope) from now until my October trip since my last mini vacation will be in September.

Sherri, CONGRATULATIONS! That's awesome that you were given such an awesome opportunity!

It just seemed a little drab compared to the other options for similar price. Nothing too bad, I just prefer a 3 to 4 star experience and it was more like a 2 1/2. :snooty:

I'm use to 2 1/2 stars, so I like BWPPI just fine. :upsidedow Of course, I do get spoiled sometimes and then I get all :snooty:

Hello ladies :flower3:

Hi, January! I'm glad to hear that Maddie is back home where she belongs!

I've had a very similar experience, and let me tell you, it took everything I had to not go psycho on the b-otch.

Ouch! I'm always doing stuff like that, so I feel your pain. I hope it heals quickly. I find that using a Mickey Band-Aid helps the pain go away faster. :upsidedow

Hiya Jess!

Thanks Wendy. I made her some tea and she hated it. Hmph. Ungrateful kid. lol

Sounds like someone deserves an unwanted copy of Tangled in their Easter basket. :snooty:

Just got back from lunch with my mom who also needed a pick me up. We're now both in better spirits. Now to figure out what to do with myself for the rest of the day that doesn't require spending any money. It's a hard task for me.

Yay for being in better spirits!

Is the slaw anything like the one at the BBQ?

Yikes!! :scared1: I hope your hand feels better! Aww..that is cute that your DS gave you Spiderman bandaids :) Don't feel bad, it happens sometimes. :flower3:

I recently went to Target and bought a box of Phineas and Ferb bandaids. It has Perry the Platypus too. :teeth:

Hmmm..I wonder if it tastes the same too. I liked the one at BTR BBQ and normally I don't like coleslaw. lol.

Hi girlies!

That sandwich looks soooo good! ohhh lemon cupcake

Jessica, I hope you are able to get out of the funk.

Rochelle you are one lucky chick to just be able to hop over to DL when the mood strikes...however, rude people suck the magic out of going to Disney  I deal with a lot of rude people at work and yes, it is usually adults. Adults WITH children. :sad2: They are teaching them wonderful things too, like disrespect towards others, personal space does not exist, entitlement, and I can keep going  I think my tolerance for people like this has gone down with me getting older.

I don't like wasps! :scared1: They are scary

That sux. It's awful when you see parents who technically are "encouraging" their kids to behave poorly. I saw it yesterday when I was parking my car at the structure. This couple had one son and a small daughter. The son purposely snatched something from the daughter and of course her reaction is to scream and cry at the top of her lungs for him to give it back to her. The parents did NOTHING. They did absolutely nothing. Normally I would assume the parents would tell the son to knock it off and stop torturning his sister but they just continued to let the son piss off the little girl. :sad2:

Sometimes it's hard working with co-workers....I have an accountant at work who is a real "beach" but I cannot stand her. She always has this rude tone of voice and she acts like she knows everything. I don't like her personality at all. She acts like Disney is stupid or the things I like are dumb or immature but then I see her with a Tink cup or Pooh figurine on her desk. :sad2: She is the type that will throw you under a bus and doesn't care. Then she wonders why she doesn't have a lot of friends.

I am not mean but I have grown some backbone in the workplace. If I feel something is not right or disagree, I will let them know. I don't think they are used to it because I was such a doormat for so long and now I am outspoken and they don't know how to deal this new change in me.

I feel like I have nothing in common with people here. They all are not outgoing or adventurous and they don't like to venture outside of the city they live in. The odd thing is that they are all a couple years older than me but it's just strange. I do have one co-worker I am friends with and hang out with sometimes and is fun but she is quitting and leaving the company in 2 weeks. :(

Forgot to post this, but for those who like Duffy, I saw this in DCA:

It's in the gift shop at the pier across from Ariel's Grotto. They also are the only store in the parks to have Duffy shaped Mickey ears ($18.95):

You can order them through Disneyland Deliev-Ears and they do take AP discounts over the phone. I believe shipping in the U.S. is a flat $7. Here is the phone #: (800)362-4533. The hat is one size and fits adults. :)

Beth--- I forgot to say GET WELL to Noelle. Hope she's starting to feel better.

Yeah, I try to ignore rude people but sometimes its hard. And I do like to complain about it

I'm sorry you work with lame-o's. I don't befriend people at work. I learned a long time ago that can sometimes lead to unwanted drama. I am nice but once I leave work, I leave it all behind. Where do you work at?

Oh now that is just CUTE!:goodvibes

I often have a hard time finding things to do that don't require spending any money.

:rotfl2:
Actually I'm thinking of getting her started on either the Charmed series or the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. They both seem right up her alley. Ok, I want to watch them too. :rolleyes1

Hey, I see you took out your tickers. What's up? I was just going to ask you how you are training for the half marathon. Do you follow a program? I am thinking of getting up off the couch one of these days......
ETA: Ummmm, never mind. They are back again. LOL! My brain is playing tricks on me. But I'd still like to know what program you are following or how you are training if you don't mind sharing. :)

Beth--- I forgot to say GET WELL to Noelle. Hope she's starting to feel better.
Thanks. She's doing ok for now. Throat still a bit sore, but no other symptoms. Now Hannah's coughing and sniffling. :headache: One thing kids don't mind sharing are their germs!! Angie is coming into town this week and we are supposed to meet up but if I end up sick obviously I won't be able to. So I'm taking my EmergenC and crossing my fingers!

Glad to hear you are feeling better! :goodvibes
I often have a hard time finding things to do that don't require spending any money.

It's impossible. Sigh. And what's even worse is that on top of spending money I don't want to waste my gas either. So I'm at home and if I get enough motivation I go for my run. I really need to be better about that. I started the Couch to 5K program ages ago ... and I keep having to restart at week one because I fall off track and I need to.

Something to make me feel better tonight: HOCKEY! Or as my parents like to call it ... Watching paint dry.
