OMG Katie...your pictures are fabulous. I'm so glad Devin was able to swim...thank goodness for duct tape huh? Looks like it was a wonderful family trip. Did the kids do the teen club? Didn't you love Shutters? Favorite restaurant?

Thanks Jill :flower3:. The kids didn't go to the Teen Club. Devin didn't want to go because he was "crippled" & Adara didn't want to go because Devin wasn't going . That's why they became such great friends during the trip . I love Shutters and spent a little too much money there (I actually have more pics :scared1:). They do such a great job. I just wish the older 2 would have taken more pics.

My favorite restaurant all around was Animators Palate. Devin liked Parrot Cay. We had the best servers ever and they really made the trip more memorable. I also ate at Palo with a couple of ladies I met onboard and that was delish.

MommaKate are you going to be doing a trip /cruise report?

I sure hope so as your pictures are wonderful.

What beautiful kids. Very handsome young man you have. Both of your girls take beautiful pictures. The picture of your youngest with tinker belle is one of the best photos I have ever seen of any child in any situation. That photo is a contest winner - now just have to find a contest for you to enter. :).

Happy

That is so sweet of you :flower3:. I also love the Tink picture and am so happy it turned out. It took us a little while to get her to look at her finger .

Alas, I will not be doing a Trip Report :guilty:. I had the intentions of doing a mini trip report, but my life is pretty hectic most of the time and I really can't find the time or energy to do one. I have a hard enough time keeping up with this thread.

I really do appreciate your kind words .

Just want to say hi to everyone. Miss you all!
:

We miss you too Capri . Enjoy your time off this week :thumbsup2.

I have been waiting until it was official but "Traveling in Colton's World" is a go!

So those of you that want to follow along with our travels around Montana this summer can! I will post the link when it gets started. Basically the idea is they pay for us to travel one weekend a month all summer and I write the blog in exchange for the travel $. Any blog article that they want re-vamped as a newspaper article I will actually get paid for on top of it! Since I owe this opportunity to the DIS all the money I earn is going towards our Halloween trip

That's awesome! Can't wait to read your first installment :thumbsup2.

Just got over sinus surgery. Nothing ever goes easy. I had to have gum over top teeth cut so ENT could enter that way. I have been enduring 3 + years of sinus infections. This last time I guess the sinus drain line ( sounds so funny to say) ruptured and well with out surgery I would never have gotten better. I had a fungal ball not just infections. There are 2 types of fungus -- one is every where, on floors, dirt, counter tops -- just every where. The other if I understand correct is from mold and takes year to get over. Have to take meds for that long. I am in need of Kidney transplant list -- I have been on inactive list for 16 months now recouping from near death episode, breast cancer scare (after special testing I tested fine), then this nose thing-- sheesh.

How horrible! You'll be in my prayers that all turns out well :flower3:.

Happy Weekend everyone! Today is my day to do laundry and catch up on things. Adara had a dentist appointment that I completely forgot about (oops)!

Next week is filled with appointments for Devin's leg and I'm finally taking him to get braces. Hopefully he'll have them off before he graduates from High School & I'm praying it doesn't cost TOOOOO much (one can hope).

Afternoon all!

Capri girl so glad to see you!! Hope all is going well with the student teaching and hope you enjoy your break! Sometimes just having a week off to veg is nice too!

Sherrie that is awesome about the Blog! I too would enjoy reading it!! How great to get paid also!!!

We have pretty much everything done off our list and MOST of the stuff that we needed to pay for done which is good although JUST like I thought we hadn't been to sam's in so long that not only did we need a ton of stuff but our membership had expired so we had a 400 bill OUCH!! But it was def needed so I was glad we FINALLY had the money to get everything! Lawn is all mowed and it looks so much better and although we had overcast and were supposed to get rain today the sun is now out so glad for that.

Then tomorrow both girls have places to go. Shelby is going to a birthday party up in El Dorado hills so will be gone most of the day and Katy is going to a friend's to work on her science project. So we will be kiddless most of the day! Too bad we couldn't do something! ;) Probably just use the opportunity to get some more stuff done round the house if the weather cooperates again.

Anywho that's my excitement for the day. Hope everyone is having a good day and great weekend!

Grats "Colton's Mommie" you do have a great way with your trip reports. I think you and Laurie have wonderful writing skills. There are a some others with trip reports I totally enjoy reading. I am unable to use names as I don't remember all the names. Best part is getting paid. You are now a paid reviewer. Does it get any better?

Laurie, when I get cold to the bone I take a nice hot bath -- warms me right up in no time. It also makes me very tired so I take a 20 nap wake up refreshed and warm. Works ever time.

I can not think of anything more fun then watching kids play sports. That is what we call playing with heart, for no other reason then the fun of game.

Kelly sorry husband is on nights. I am sure I would not like that one bit. I am glad he is working though. Hope everyone here that wants an out of home job can get one. Being a stay at home grandma keeps me busy enough for now.

Least but not last---- to all the warm place dwellers. Think of me wrapped in a blanket, sitting in a dark room with all lights on for light to be at pc. I finally saw the sun today. I think it has been 3 weeks -- looks like another 7 days for sun to pop out again after today. I NEED/WANT WARM NOT HOT --WARM SUN LOOKING DOWN ON ME-- AND NO RAIN TO WASH IT ALL AWAY.

chat later

Happy

I have been waiting until it was official but "Traveling in Colton's World" is a go!

How exciting! Congrats!

So no sitter for tonight means no going to the Soul event for Yelp :sad2: At least my back up plan is fun - fire pit night with the other young adults from church. Our Pastor is hosting and his kids and my son are friends so it all works out. I am making some teriyaki meatballs to take over with me. Yum!

I also picked up Tangled - the blue ray 4-pack at Target today for only $15! It was on sale for $24.99, then I had the Disney $5 coupon and Target put out a $5 coupon too! Sweet!!!

Just had to share some good news! (Some of you may see this post in more than one place I am excited!)

The local newspaper editor saw my Christmas TR and forwarded my name and a link to it to a group looking for someone to write a Montana travel blog and newspaper travel articles about traveling with your kids.

:worship: This is so darn cool, so cool. Congratulations. I can not wait to read along. Any idea where you might go and explore? I love Montana. The BF was raised there and his entire family is there, so we have vacationed from one end of the state to the other. I just love it there, as soon as we hit the state line I feel at home. We spent 2 weeks in Glacier once, and that was one of my most favorite trips, the other was helping the fish and wildlife people spawn Walleye on Fort Peck Lake, that was incredible. The BF is going back this summer to do a backpackign trip through Glacier, and I assume we will go a few other times to visit his mother. I just can not wait to hear about your travels. Way to go, so Awesome!!

Very exciting news Sherry!!!

Anthony had is first little league game of the season & it poured & hailed, then the sun came out & then rained some more.....by the end of the game I was soaked & freezing. I'm home now with a coat on, a blanket & the heat cranked up & can't get warm!!!!! I hate getting that cold......takes me all day to rewarm. The cold is the worse part of having fibromyalgia.

Karaoke tonight & then no plans for tomorrow.......yay!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

How did the game go? I am still cold too from the weather and standing outside for 4 hours in the same darn weather at the car auction. I finally had to take a hot hot bath, but my toe are still blue.

I am making some teriyaki meatballs to take over with me. Yum!

Yum, Love me some Teriyaki, you just made me crave it, hmmmm.....maybe for lunch tomorrow.

Hope everyone as a great night, waiting on the pizza delivery man cozied under the covers with the pooch, just having a relaxing night.

Hi Amy, thanx for asking........they did pretty good for their first game. Anthony got one good hit & threw a kid out at first base.....so not too bad.

I'm finally starting to get warm......but it took having the heat on 72 degrees, a nice warm quilt & a thermal long sleeve. The hot bath idea sounded good, unfortunately the kids didn't really allow that!!

Question for you (or those of you who stayed at the Carousel Inn) - how were the rooms? We may be coming down for a quick visit and I can get pretty rates at the Carousel. BWPPI comes up as $200 more for the same three nights, so any reason why I wouldn't go with the Carousel? I've never stayed at either.........

Have fun!
I keep thinking you are Tina posting when I see the Billy avatar. :rotfl:

I love Shutters and spent a little too much money there (I actually have more pics :scared1:).
What is Shutters?
Hope Devin's appts go okay and the bill isn't too frightening!

I finally saw the sun today. I think it has been 3 weeks -- looks like another 7 days for sun to pop out again after today.
Hope you get some sun soon! We had plenty today. A high of 85. Which was at least cooler than yesterday's high of 91. :scared1:

I also picked up Tangled - the blue ray 4-pack at Target today for only $15! It was on sale for $24.99, then I had the Disney $5 coupon and Target put out a $5 coupon too! Sweet!!!
Where do you find the coupons? ETA: Never mind, I got the coupons, but according to their website it's sold out at all the Targets near me. Oh well, no biggie.
Sorry about the Yelp party. If I was closer, I'd babysit for ya!

Hope everyone as a great night, waiting on the pizza delivery man cozied under the covers with the pooch, just having a relaxing night.
Mmmm, pizza. :thumbsup2 We rented Due Date and watched that tonight. What a huge waste of time!

Is this for August? Does this mean you are ditching the Grand?

Night night, ladies!!!! :cloud9:

Glacier is on our list! We are going to take the train (Our son's first non-Disney train trip) from Malta to Glacier and stay at the old railroad hotel.

We boat on Ft Peck every sumer so I am sure we will do that as we do it every year anyway.

Also on tap is traveling on horseback for 3 days with the milk river wagon train re-enactment camping at ranches along the way.

Lewis & Clark Caverns, Little Bighorn for the re-enactment, Yellowstone, Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs and the dinosaur trail are all possibilities that are being discussed.

Some of our trips are planned already some are in discussion so any ideas for trips of 2-5 days from NE MT would be very welcome... Your BF may be a great idea guy as he grew up here... we have only been here 4 years and alot of this will be new to us!

I thought Carousel rooms were nice, but super small. Like 1/2 size of HOJO rooms. When you say we, do you mean you and son. Room size would probably be fine. But with 3 grown people, they would feel small to me. I don't know how they compare to Best Western. Maybe you could get the actual square footage for the rooms you are considering.

I'm sure you could have one custom made.:)

You can be scattered at Disneyland but who ever does it have to be very discreet. I've heard of people doing it.

.
You'd be surprised how many people do this...and are not discreet. Many times when Pirates & Small World are down....its due to improper burials at sea...LOL Hate to say it, but your loved one usually ends up in a shop vac :(

Beth...thought I multi quoted, but its not here. Shutter's is the photo locations on DCL and is a scrapbookers DREAM...as well as a budget buster. hahaha. They take the most amazing photo's and its like a scavenger hunt trying to locate your own among the other thousands of families.

Today's weather was so bizarre. We've been in the 80+ most of the week, then today was warm & sunny, then cold & windy, then cloudy and potentially rainy, then warm and sunny...and so on. Crazy!
DL was crazy busy today...yikes!!

Theresa - I liked the Carousel. The beds were comfy, and the free breakfast was much nicer than the one at Desert Inn & Suites. (However, we are going to stay at D.I.and Suites for our December trip because they have great prices on their suites!) The prices for the Carousel were too high for our family trip.

Nope, for May not August ;)

It's for me and my sister, so small should be okay. I'll check out the actual size of the rooms.

Comfy beds are great :thumbsup2 For $200 less, it might be the way we go.

I have stayed at both and liked the Carousel better. We had 4 in our room and it did not seem that bad - definitely fine for two people. I would stay there again - probably not at BWPPI.

Morning ladies! Exciting times around here yesterday. We have had an influx of wasps lately - so bad we could not go out into the backyard - so I had Beebusters come over. I was floored with how many nest they took out - one of them was at least 10" wide!! Yikes! No wonder we were having a bee party!!

We leave tomorrow for skiing at Mammoth - haven't ski this mountain so looking forward to it.

Wow - so sorry to hear all that! Hope that the sinus issues clear up soon!

Have a great day Divas!

Finally caught up! I took a few days off from the thread as I had worked 6 night shifts in a row. Then was supposed to have 5 days off but ended up picking up an extra shift in the middle. A few more extra shifts and I'll be able to splurge for my birthday trip!

The airfare costs for my friend to fly from Houston are finally coming down a little on southwest. I just hope they don't go back up before we are able to confirm our dates! (She is a teacher and is also going to do summer school but she said there is some question on the dates so she can't confirm right now :sad1:)

My days off were spent painting base boards and crown molding. Fun Fun! I still have more to paint but I decided when I got up this morning I was taking the day off! (Hubby may not agree but since he is still sleeping oh well....)

Carol - Just curious (for future trips) why would you probably not stay at BWPPI, just the price difference for this time or ever? It does look a bit more "dated" than the Carousel for sure. The beds at the Carousel do look cozy :thumbsup2
