It's impossible. Sigh. And what's even worse is that on top of spending money I don't want to waste my gas either. So I'm at home and if I get enough motivation I go for my run. I really need to be better about that. I started the Couch to 5K program ages ago ... and I keep having to restart at week one because I fall off track and I need to.

Something to make me feel better tonight: HOCKEY! Or as my parents like to call it ... Watching paint dry.

Awww...I hope that you get your motivation up to run. I try to be consistent with my trips to the gym. I know that if I miss one day and get lazy, it will be hard for me to get back into the routine. I noticed that if you miss for a while and then go back to exercising, the first time is hard but then after that, it gets easier again. You can do it Jess!

:goodvibes That is so cute. Thanks!

Ad what you said is totally true. And the motivation is there when I actually get myself to do it. It's easier when I'm actually running because I feel good while I'm out there. It's just when I've been sitting at home and doing nothing for a few days that the motivation just goes down the toilet.

:goodvibes

Evening all.

Beth, sorry your young ones are not feeling well, I am still sick :confused3 However I bought some salt Saline stuff tonight, and the first time I did it I feel 99 times better, the sinuses got cleared out!

Loved the review of Hungry Bear, made my mouth water. I have a lemon loaf to make, made me just want to go get the cupcake.

Rochelle, sorry about the rude people on the tram, we noticed that in February when we were there too, we tried hard really hard to teach the neice and nephew that is not how people should act. It was kind of insane to have to tell a kiddo that an adult should not act that way.

Jessica, your a hockey fan? I am a huge Canucks fan! Never been to a live game, but being so close to vancouver, we cheer from here for them!

Sherri, Ouchie on the cut, ouch, makes me hurt! Your colton is funny! I started reading your trip report, I think I am on the last day. Cuts like that are no fun. We just got a new electric knife sharpener, and the BF likes to go super sharp on them, so I have had to be extra special careful to use and wash them.

Hope you all had a great Monday. I am off to a nice HOT bath with extra Mr. Bubbles, and then a late dinner, made Red beans and rice with Sausage, still simmering. But I would rather just have a lemon cupcake from Disneyland. :rotfl:

Amy - Hockey fan, I are! My family thinks it's the oddest thing in the world (they compare it to watching paint dry or grass grow) but I've grown up with it even if I'm in California. My bio-dad took me one of the San Jose Sharks very first games ever during their first season in the NHL and I've been hooked ever since. I haven't been to a game in longer than I care to admit and I'm only about 45 minutes away. I just have put my money into too much (as if there is such a thing) Disney and haven't had any left over for my other obsessions.

:rotfl2:
Actually I'm thinking of getting her started on either the Charmed series or the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. They both seem right up her alley. Ok, I want to watch them too. :rolleyes1

Hey, I see you took out your tickers. What's up? I was just going to ask you how you are training for the half marathon. Do you follow a program? I am thinking of getting up off the couch one of these days......
ETA: Ummmm, never mind. They are back again. LOL! My brain is playing tricks on me. But I'd still like to know what program you are following or how you are training if you don't mind sharing. :)

Get her Buffy! I actually love both Charmed and Buffy, but I think Rose McGowan ruined Charmed. :snooty:

OMG, Beth, I am doing horrible with my training! Between work and school I have no time, and I am ALWAYS tired. I am really trying to find the motivation, but being stressed out does not help at all. I am going to try to start Couch to 5k tomorrow. I have a 12k next month and am freaking out about it! :scared1:

I wish we lived closer to each other! We could be running buddies. I really need to find someone to hold me accountable. :sad2:

I'm a hockey fan too! :cheer2: Don't watch TV anymore, so that makes it a little harder to follow. :rotfl2:

I hope everyone is having a great night!

GO CANUCKS :cheer2: :cheer2: (see Stacie - Canucks rule, Coyotes drool!!!)

Hope everyone had a good Monday. It was raining here, big surprise :upsidedow We decided on the Carousel for May, so I'm crossing my fingers. I'm sure it will be good and everyone seems to have good things to say. I'm just hoping it won't be too hot :scared1:

Beth- I love both Charmed & Buffy! I got Kaeleb hooked on Buffy!

I love hockey too!

Everyone is still sleeping. They were supposed to do MM this morning but they are moving slow!
It was pretty hot at DL yesterday! It has been pretty busy. But with spring break that's a given. We started at CA yesterday. It was fun. Brooke was a little overwhelmed! She tried to eat Minnie's nose, was asleep when we saw Handy Manny. She has done really good on rides!

Have a great day ladies!

Morning all!!

Beth we LOVED charmed and in fact I have the entire series on DVD. I agree with Wendy that I didn't like when they added Rose/Paige. Eventhough people say a lot of crap about Shannon Doeherty I still think she was better then Rose. But I LOVED Piper and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano and Holly Combs) so it was worth watching for them.

Never watched Buffy but I am sure I prob would have liked it. I really like Sci Fi stuff. In fact we are watching the entire series of X files on Netflix right now.

Anywho we made it through the first long day. I had a pretty long day at work and then straight to piano so I was glad Shane hadn't started nights yet cuz he picked up a pizza and then he ended up taking the girls to swim. It turns out it is not going to work out having Katy wait while Shelby swims anyway because she has to be there BEFORE Shelby is done anyway! Their practices actually overlap! So I just hope that he is off nights by next Monday or we will DEF be fast fooding it again because we didn't get home from piano till almost 5:30 and they had to leave for swim around 6!

Anyway he starts on nights tonight but luckily I am off today so I hope to be able to cook something either right before the girls get off school or right after they get home.

Beth I think your cold is spreading. Shelby came home last night complaining of a headache and saying she didn't feel good! I sure hope she is not coming down with something. She said a few of the kids in her class are sick! Geez I wish they wouldn't send the kids to school sick! She really needs to NOT miss any school right now cuz they have their testing coming up and I don't want her missing practice. Oh well it's prob already too late LOL.

Anyway I am off to walk with my dad today and then hittin the old laundry. STILL haven't heard if I am driving for the field trip tomorrow.

Both 4th grade classes are going and both 5ths are supposed to go and we already PAID for it but now as always NO ONE has volunteered for Katy's class and so if they don't get enough drivers Katy's class won't be able to go. Katy said they won't even get the money back that we paid which to mean does not sound right OR fair! And I think it is SO unfair to the kids that all the other classes get to go and their's doesn't. I just can't believe that they can't ask some of the parents from the other classes to help out. I know that if the situation was reversed I would do it!

So I guess I will find out sometime today one way or the other but I just feel so bad for Katy. :(

Anyway that's bout it for me. Have a good day everyone!

Good morning, ladies!!

Jessica, no motivation here yet either. I'm working on it though. My problem is I expect too much from myself and then when it doesn't happen right away or in a perfect way, I give up. :confused3

Rochelle, your dedication to the gym is awesome!! I need you to come to Vegas and kick my butt!

Amy, hope you continue to feel better. Seems like these cold going around hang on a looooong time.

Theresa, no hockey fans in this house. But I'm pretty sure I heard the Coyotes were the best. :confused3 Might want to double check with Stacie about that. And send me your rain please. Thanks!

I think I will get her Buffy. I've watched snippets of it on youtube and I like it.

I'm sorry to hear about your training going poorly, but I know once you put your mind to something you are pretty good at doing it. So I have faith in you!!

I think I will eventually end up getting both. But for now, we'll start with Buffy. With Spring Break and then summer coming, it's a good time to watch series like these. It's too hot to play outside most afternoons.

Glad things are going well on your trip so far. Even if they are slow moving. LOL

Beth I think your cold is spreading. Shelby came home last night complaining of a headache and saying she didn't feel good!
Oh no, poor thing! I hope she feels better soon. And I hope Katy gets to go on her field trip. That wouldn't be fair otherwise.

Morning ladies! We are in Mammoth and it is about 60 degrees here - spring skiing - my favorite!!!

My wasps are gone and now I am looking at bee proofing the house. Not only do I not like wasps but I am allergic.

Beth - another vote for Buffy!! Loved that series! Josh Whedon is a genius. I love that he wrote a strong kick-butt female character. And of course can't forget the spin off - Angel! I liked Charmed also but was more into Buffy!

Have a great day!

Rochelle, your dedication to the gym is awesome!! I need you to come to Vegas and kick my butt!

lol The hip hop classes also help but sometimes I get a substitute hip hop teacher that I don't really like. She is like a hip hop boot camp and if we mess up, she makes us start over. Last night she saw one girl who was confused (because the teacher was doing the moves too fast) and she stopped and asked that girl what her problem was!

If she had asked me that, I would have said: "YOU!"

:sad2:

My new teacher that I have was on vacation so we had this sub. I also have the same teacher on Thursday's but she has been away and I have missed 3 sessions for the Thursday night class. It's kind of frustrating but I made myself go to the gym. I try to make myself go on the nights I don't have class. It's hard sometimes (especially if I feel sleepy or tired after work) but I make myself go because I remind myself that I do not want to get super fat and gain back all the weight I've lost. :faint:

Hello Diva's! Just stopping in for a quick hello :goodvibes

I went over to the gym for a bit this morning in final prep before my next half in Santa Cruz on Sunday. I can't wait to hang out on the beach Saturday and relax.

Rochelle~ That stinks about rude people. I have learned that DL is a great place to watch bad parents. My kids are held to a strict set of rules, especially in public. We are always talking about acceptable behaviour. It seems like some people feel like vacation means a vacationing from manners and parenting.

Enjoy your Day without Shoes!!!

Last night I stayed up late and decorated another bag. Here are some pics:

It's a big shoulder/duffle type bag. I sewed on the blue lacey trim and then added the Pooh ribbon embellishment :)

Good morning ladies! Another warm and sunshine-filled day here in AZ. My training partner and I are loving these beautiful Spring days.

We are in Mammoth and it is about 60 degrees here - spring skiing - my favorite!!!
Spring skiing rocks, and Mammoth is always a fun place to ski. Glad you're enjoying your trip Bridget!

My friend and I considered the Santa Cruz Half, but I'm burned out on Sunday races. I prefer Saturday so I can travel home on Sunday.

Hope you do well Jen, it looks like a fun race! My next race is a 10k instead of a half-marathon, but it is the HILLY...very HILLY Whiskey Row race in Prescott, AZ. I suppose the hill training will serve me well in SFO if I get picked in the lottery for the 2011 Nike Women's Marathon in October. :P

Cute bag Rochelle!

Drive by HI!
Hi Melody! Good to see you around. How's life treating you these days? :)

I haven't been to Mammoth in ages, since I was a kid. Have a great time skiing in such great weather!
And be careful with those bees and wasps. Scary to be allergic and have so many around.

I'm buying her the first season of Buffy which just so happens to come as a 2-pack with the first season of Angel. :thumbsup2

I'm gonna be cheering you on this Sunday when you run! :cheer2: It will be virtually of course, but still. ;)

All you runners are making me feel soooo darn lazy. :sad2: I need to get my butt moving!!!!

So I did something stupid ... I was trying a new filet technique last night making dinner and the really sharp filet knife slipped and I cut myself pretty badly...(that knife went through my flesh like it was butter) not bad enough for stitches but almost. The cut is right at the base of my thumb and is still throbbing this morning. Hubby finished dinner and Colton hovered over me until bedtime and got me spiderman bandaids because they make you feel better. I feel like an idiot.

I have a scar on my hand that is throbbing right now, reading this...... Mine was achieved slicing a tomato..... Graceful. Yup. That's me.

Hooray! I'm all caught up!

Worked in the yard on Sunday which made me sore and stiff yesterday. Ugh. Getting older sucks. Also really stirred up the allergies, so I've been sneezing too. Fun times. Today I got my every-6-month-bonus-fun of going to the dentist. Now my teeth/gums hurt, but I'm good for another 6 months. Tomorrow morning I'll be up early to register for my annual Stampin Up Convention at six-freakin-A.M. Then I have some stuff arriving UPS tomorrow afternoon that I will need to work with the rest of the week. There is a Garden Show in town this weekend that I am wanting to go to, but it's $11 just to get in and then parking on top of that, so I'm not sure it's worth it. Not much going on around here, which is probably a good thing.... LOL

Thanks for the nice compliments on my bag :)

Hi Mel! Good to see you!

Jessica- hope you are feeling better today

I was frustrated at work around lunch time. The accountant at my work has this habit of just blurting things out without regard for other people's feelings. She has always been this way and doesn't care. I don't like her at all, never really have. Well I was eating my lunch and she starts talking loudly to another co-worker of mine. The co-worker was making a sald or something and put croutons. The accountant then grabs the bag of croutons and rants on how many calories are in it. Then she says: "You might as well go eat that container of salt over there!" The person she said this to is friends with her and just laughs and doesn't seem to get that her comments are really rude.

I was just trying to eat and to me, I don't care what other people eat. Eat whatever you want, it's your own choice. I'm not going to comment and tell you how bad and unhealthy something is or start counting calories. In fact, I don't count calories. I just eat in moderation and I go to the gym and my classes and I feel fine. I just think it's wrong to just blurt out how "wrong" it is to eat something in front of other people. She seems really insensitive and I just got annoyed and left the lunch room.

I talked to my supervisor about it but she is best friends with this chick. :sad2: She said she she was sorry that she found the accountant's comments to be rude and insensitive. I also know that the accountant is on a diet but she doesn't go to the gym often. She just sees people eating things (like if someone brings in donuts) and she says: "That's bad for you!" really loud, when a person is trying to get one. :sad2:

That sucks Rochelle, people can be freaks. That accountant sounds like "Psycho Sue" in the DonutGate thread. It's too bad that your supervisor is best friends with her. :sad2:
