Hi everyone!

Welcome to all the new ladies.

I haven't been on a great deal since our last trip. Life has been pretty hectic at home. I am happy to report that Girl Scout Cookie Season is over!!!!:goodvibes Between my 2 girls troops they sold almost 3000 boxes of cookies.

I hope you all are doing well. I promise to get on the board a bit more than I have this month.

Take care, talk to you all soon.

Steph

I know a couple of you are planning to be in DL during the month of October. Those of you who already know your exact dates, can you do me a favor and post them? I will then add them to the front page, so those who are looking to meet up with other Divas and/or their families will know who is going to be there and when.
Also if you'd like you can add if you'll be there solo or with family, and if you are attending one of the Halloween parties. (although they don't seem to have the party dates listed just yet.)

Thanks!! Hopefully we can get some fun mini meets planned. :cool1:

My hubby(Brant) Colton & I will be there from Oct 11th to October 18th 2011. My daughter Kari, soon to be son-in-law (getting married Oct 31 2011) and their adorable 1 year old daughter Zoey(almost 2 by then) may be joining us for just the day of the 18th to celebrate Kari's birthday...if I can drag her away from her wedding plans for just 1 day. Then we are heading to Phoenix Arizona for the wedding and would love to meet up with Divas in that area too since I will have lots of time while my daughter is at work between the 19th and the Halloween wedding!

So I was just curious, how many newbies really come every year??? I know your post says there are some but just wondering how many. I have seen a lot of your names on the dis boards so I was figuring that most of you are already friends. Do the girls do their own thing most of the time or is it a pretty tight group that stays together. Thanks.
I have been on all the trips and am still getting to know people. I really enjoyed meeting and hanging out with the newbies and some of the oldies. Just by walking around you run into Diva's and then before you know it you're all off somewhere. It seemed to be that way for me during this whole past trip. Very enjoyable.:goodvibes

Hopefully this works. This is it. :)
I love your house and hearing it's history. I do believe it it's quite possible for ghosts to be among us. In 1977 I lived in a then 100 year old farmhouse in Moorpark - Ventura county. The lady who owned it was 80 and told me some interesting stories, It was out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by lima bean fields. Too bad I don't like them. Could have picked as many as I wanted.
I had a bit of a tough weekend. I got a call at work Friday afternoon from my uncle saying that my cousin had just been killed in a hit and run. :sad2: So I've spent the weekend in bed. (thanks for not being too chatty this weekend!)

Big hugs to everyone! Have a super day! :goodvibes
That is such sad news.

That is a lot of cookies. Do they have a nice trip planned now?

The sun is shinning brightly today !
My poor cat went missing on Friday. My son was out back this morning and heard meowing coming from the shed and sure enough she was inside side. I don't know how she got in without my knowing but I do remember putting something in it on Fri. Guess she snuck in. No food or water for 3 days didn't seem to hurt her. She barely ate anything when she came in the house.

All caught up! Today I tackle Laundry Mountain. Kinda like Space Mountain, but way scarier and possibly bigger. LOL
:rotfl2:
I get to ride Laundry Mountain everyday here. With 6 people, it can get pretty frightening. :scared1:

Darn, I'll miss seeing you in October. I was hoping we'd be able to meet up.

Aww, poor kitty! I'm glad you found her safe and sound.

Hey Beth, could you also post on the first page the link to this event? It is June 25 and I am planning to spend the weekend. A number of people have expressed interest and hopefully we can get a few Divas together for a mini-meet surrounding this event.

Carole, are you starting a thread for a Diva mini-meet at this event? I've never been and it's so close to home...........

Good afternoon Ladies! Finally caught up . . .
Welcome to all the new ladies!! I've been on the last three trips and they are awesome!! :cool1:

Steph - awesome job on the cookies! That's amazing!
Beth - I might be coming down sometime in October, not sure yet, but will keep you posted. :thumbsup2
Wendy - sorry about your cousin, that is just awful!

Hello to everyone else - really should have multi-quoted!

HI ladies--I've been MIA--have had a lot going on.

First--Wendy--I am SO sorry about your cousin. That is just awful. Hugs to you and your family.

Other than the usual craziness I woke up to a roof leak this morning--luckily only in the garage--but bad enough. I have to go home and throw out some boxes and stuff that got wet.

I shipped a box of clothes and toiletries to Florida today for our upcoming trip to WDW. I'd rather pay a little more with FedEx and not have to hazzle a checked bag. That way I know it's there before I even leave! I am getting excited for our trip! Although I have been told I need a bathing suit :scared1:

I also sent off the Magical Express vouchers and luggage tags to my compadres.

Oh, and then worked in between. Don't people know I have trips to plan? LOL

It rained really hard last night--lots of thunder and lightening and HAIL. This morning all of my potted plants outside had about a 1/4-1/2 inch of hail in them--it was cold so it didn't melt right away! Crazy for Socal! I actually made a "snowball" out of it!

Ok--I guess I better get back to the grindstone--just wanted to check in with everyone--oh, and

Guess you would not be interested in the hotel I am staying at in New Orleans with my sisters in July - Place d' Armes - supposedly one of the top ten haunted hotels in NO!! ;)

We are staying there after visiting relatives in Mobile, AL for a 50th wedding anniversary! We got good prices and I love the fact it is one block from Cafe du Monde - can you say beignets!

Why yes, I can say beignets! One of my favorite places in the world is New Orleans! I've always wanted to stay at Place d'Armes--can't wait to hear about it from you!

Afternoon gals!

Just got back from my long day! Had to work this morning but it wasn't too bad. Mom wasn't there so I just ran in and did what I had to do and got outta there. I had to make some bank deposits and when I was driving over there there was a car just stopped in the middle of the road with the lights on and blocking the entire lane. I thought it was really odd but it was a side street so I didn't know if the person was on the phone or doing something else so I just went around them and then when I looked in my rear view it kind of looked like the person was slumped over. I wondered if I should go back and see if they were ok but instantly thought about those scams where you do that and then people grab you or rob you so I was kind of apprehensive and as I drove a bit further wondering how to handle it the car behind me stopped so I went on to the bank and decided that after I made the deposits I would drive back by and if they were still there I would see if they needed help.

Sure enough when I drove back by about 10 mins later no one was there so obviously it must not have been anything but it was really weird and eerie!!

Anyway then I came home and had a bit of a headache so laid down to take a nap and we FINALLY got a bit of sun and then it clouded up and we got this HUGE clap of thunder that literally shook my whole house and sounded like a bomb went off. I jumped up and was like what the heck!! Needless to say I couldn't go back to sleep LOL.

Then I took Shelby to piano and Katy and I wait in the car while Shelby has her lesson and it started absolutely POURING rain and then hailed like crazy and then we had a bunch of thunder and lightening. CRAZY!!! I even heard they had a funnel cloud up north of hear about an hour!

So it has been an exciting day weather wise for sure!!

Trudi I am glad you like the house. It has def been interesting living here. And I too def believe in spirits. Esp after living here. We have had more than just the unexplained noises. I mean the time the knock came at the door we had over 20 people at our house for dinner and they all heard it and my dad walked completely around the house and no one was there. As I said we live on an acre and over 250 feet from the road so there is no way anyone who "may" have knocked could have gotten away that quickly and it was a very distinct loud knock. We also had these knockings on pipes that were ONLY heard in our upstairs and they would start out softly and then get VERY loud and were very rhytmic. My dad had all kinds of investigative things done to try and find the source and we never could find any. And the time we saw the figure walk past the doorway it was very distinct and we even heard the creaky footsteps of someone walking past. I even called out as I thought it was my mom walking to her room and she wasn't even home! So WAY more than just random noises that could be explained away by things. I like the supernatural but it also kind of scares me!! :) I am kind of glad that it stopped at my place cuz when I would be home alone it would freak me out sometimes.

Anyway I also wanted to mention that mom and I are going up to the Seattle area in July and I am already going to try and meet up with Laurie and Carol when we drive through Portland but would LOVE to meet up with any of the WA divas when we are there if it works out. We will most likely be in Seattle on the 21st and 22nd of July so if anyone is available those days would LOVE to meet for some shopping and or lunch/dinner whatever works. We plan to take the girls to the space needle, pikes market, westlake etc and then will be heading back down the coast on Saturday the 23rd. So just wanted to throw that in the mix as well so if anyone can meet up that would be awesome!

Anyway I am off to relax for the evening. Hope you all have a good one!

Hopefully this works. This is it. :)

Your house is just gorgeous, I have always wanted a old / farmhouse style like that, it is so purty.

Monday, again??? Already?? Ugh. lol
Can you tell I am not a fan of Mondays, or actually early mornings in general....

I hate mondays too, and this monday was a horrible one to say the least.

I had a bit of a tough weekend. I got a call at work Friday afternoon from my uncle saying that my cousin had just been killed in a hit and run. :sad2: So I've spent the weekend in bed. (thanks for not being too chatty this weekend!)

:flower3::grouphug: Iam so sorry for your loss.

Wendy - my screen name is my first dog's name. He was named after the mountains and my DH's favorite beer!!

Your doggie in your avi is so darn cute, he looks just like my Wilson.

Welcome to all the new women. I have been all four years and it is always tons of fun and I have made several wonderful friends. :cutie: Half the fun is chatting on the thread and all the planning. We are quite the group!

:Hi ladies! We just got our modem fixed :) I have some stuff to do tonight, but will be back on around 9:30 to send out the exchange names and catch up on the thread :goodvibes

I really wanted the historic feel this time in New Orleans - been many, many times (I grew up in the South) but either we just drove or stayed closer to the fairgrounds when we went for Jazzfest.

Your doggie in your avi is so darn cute, he looks just like my Wilson.

That dog is my current pooch - his name is Kona - this time after the Hawaiian beach and one of my favorite kinds of coffee!

I will look for you on FB.
